Scattered showers continue across eastern Scotland while cloud, outbreaks of rain and blustery winds are affecting northern Ireland and western Scotland, before pushing east throughout the day. It’s a different picture away from the north as most of England and Wales will be dry, with some sunny spells, and light winds. Temperatures could reach 26 or 27 ̊C in the southeast but only high teens Celsius across Northern Ireland and Scotland. - This is the Met Office UK weather forecast for the afternoon of 30/07/2026. @bettygraham818Thanks Alex. That North/West split is SO annoying…I wish it would swap when it’s cool and raining and the SE could get some respite from summer! Detestable season in every single way (for us who prefer Autumn and Winter anyway) ! 🙂

@LucyFloydPatchy rain is very beneficial for lawns and preventing yellowing. Plants will absorb some rain through their leaves.
