10 DUMB WWE Booking Decisions (We Didn't Want To Admit Were GENIUS!)
Video Overview & Insights
Defending the "dumbest" WWE booking. Starring Steve Austin, John Cena and Cody Rhodes!
I disagree with Drew McIntyre losing at both WWE Clash at the Castle 2022 and WWE Clash at the Castle 2024 Drew McIntyre earned his way back to WWE and earned a World Championship in front of a live crowd also for more then 5 minutes 49 seconds and an Aggressive Trollish Title Reign or a Babyface reign like his WWE Championship reigns for 202 days or 98 days with the WWE Universal Championship or WWE Undisputed Universal Championship/WWE Undisputed WWE Championship or WWE World Heavyweight Championship (New) or New WWE World Heavyweight Championship or WWE World Men's World Heavyweight Championship or WWE World Heavyweight Championship (Created in May 2023) if they bring back WWE Clash at the Castle 2026 or 2027 in Ayr, Scotland his actual hometown not his fake hometown of Cardiff, Wales and Glasgow, Scotland his university hometown the only good thing to come out of Drew McIntyre being screwed is his Anti-Hero Heel or Anti-Heel (Anti-Villain) in name only Heel or Justified Heel character but other then that it pissed off the fans and all that. If it does happen at WWE Clash at the Castle 2026 or 2027 in Ayr, Scotland his actual hometown it can be Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns Justified Heel vs "The OTC" Roman Reigns to go full circle at WWE Clash at the Castle 2022 with Roman screwing him in his fake hometown of Cardiff, Wales and all that.

Whoever thought Drew was going to win at Clash at the Castle is an idiot.

#4 most certainly wasn't genius. Which of course is no newsflash.
More User Perspectives
Brock defeating The Streak - it revitalized Lesnar, and it led to him soundly destroying Cena and Roman, to delight of the crowds in attendance.
Damien Sandow winning MITB - it further prevented Cody from reaching the main event, which led to a LOT of things that followed, before Cody ended up as WWE Universal Champion.
Alexa Bliss beating Becky Lynch for her first Women's Title win - she wasn't one of the Four Horsewomen, nor was she an indie darling, nor was she an NXT star, but quickly became a major star on the main roster. It first required Alexa to beat Becky, who wasn't a major fan favorite, but she was a fairly beloved babyface.
Batista winning the 2014 Royal Rumble - fans HATED it, but then Batista turned heel and it added even more fuel to the fire for Daniel Bryan. Dude defeated Evolution in one night by himself. Can't get much sweeter than that for a guy who was far from what Evolution represented.
The part of Austin's heel turn that I didn't like was I find the Babyface v Babyface of the two biggest stars in the company in the Wrestlemania Main Event to be the most memorable. Hogan v Warrior, Hart v Michaels. The best opportunity for it between Austin and Rock was X-Seven. Now, I do think the rarity of such events adds to them, but that's why I felt disappointed with the end of Wrestlemania X-Seven.
@MyPisceanNatureMandy really improved in NXT so it might have been confusing but it really worked.
@anilbalram7768Will say: Not having Trips drop the title led us to Evolution. Which led us to Randy and Dave. There would be no Viper without it.
@tzvikrasner6073None of those were "genius."
@envoy2500I was a kid when Austin turned heel and joined forces with McMahon and at the time I hated it. I couldn't believe that it happened and everything in my body rejected it, but as I have gotten older I have actually grown to appreciate it. I remember there was an interview between him, the Rock and Michael Cole and Austin said something to the affect of "I need to beat you Rock. I need to beat you more than you could ever imagine" and honestly that's a pretty brilliant way to setup that heel turn tbh. I think the timing of it was all wrong, but I have grown to respect what they were going for.
@girliegirl314Brock losing against cena in 2012 made cena even look like a bigger star and cena needed that win
@JLWprime10Taker losing his Wrestlemania streak before he retired will always be one of the biggest shit decisions ever made.
@666novocaineAustin going heel and joining McMahon gave us some of the funniest promos ever. I loved his run as McMahon’s buddy, especially once Angle joined in.
@666novocaineDefending Brock losing his first time back is defending Vince for being a petty little child.
@williammoore198010:40- Stop calling it a “fight”. It’s a scripted performance.
@williammoore1980anything with r truth
@walterCruZ-u2enever heard of Zunes in my life till now, i get the like, "babe", abbreviation but holy shit, nobody has ever heard Zunes. Ups and Downs needs to incorporate an equals sign.
Challenge yourselves.
Ups and Downs, but for entire storylines. Current storylines and old ones too.
@BTFWayneFirst time I saw that undertaker vs undertaker match was on a DVD that had 5 of his matches. I was just happy to watch old matches I didn't get to see lol
Edit : wasn't going to mention it as it's been argued to death but since it was brought up, I'll die on Brock ending the streaks hill with you
I hear Simon, I give an up!
@derrickdelmar4295Triple H's Reign Of Terror was never a genius idea. It turned so many of my friends off wrestling so hard that they just quit watching for years. It's a black stain on Hunter's legacy no matter what he continues doing now to improve the product. It also doesn't help how many stars you mentioned that gained nothing from it. Everything else on the list is good fun though, it didn't literally drive viewers away in droves
@teflonbillyMandy Rose going through NXT wasn’t dumb.
@multiyapplesEarly Mr McMahon having "the stooges" as his main 2 body guards was so friggin hilarious.
I think it was also key to the evolution of the storyline, cuz Vince had no choice but to upgrade to actual younger, stronger, BETTER guys who were, ya know, active wrestlers lol
Once you get a certain amount of wealth, you don't pick political sides per se. You play both of them and move to whichever position you think will keep your power, status, and wealth intact and perhaps even grow it
@buster-vu7sx0:58 there is not an argument made that will convince me that Rose was any good whatsoever. She was horrible.
@syre.505For number 5, Triple H defeated the Undertaker a week earlier to be named the number one contender to Brock Lesnar's Undisputed WWE Title so in retrospect, he did earn the World Heavyweight Title
@kidwilksNo one cares because drew McIntyre is terrible in the ring has the worst finisher in WWE, history and is boring and has no character.
@R8RSnCelticsstill love how prior to Drew vs Priest everyone was like "oooh the fans will riot if Drew gets screwed again" and when Drew did actually get screwed everyone was...fine.
@M9AXThanks to the thumbnail with hear us out all I can think is "Sushi Glory Hole"
@ianjohn2648I was one of those fans that quit watching wrestling after the Stone Cold heel turn. I didn't come back until 2014.
@MDestron2282Yeah, sure! Keep embracing death threats and how Cody used these to get himself booked as champ. While you're at it, just keep ignoring how sh*t his run as a champ is. Boring on the mic, slow and harmless in the ring, absolutely ridiculous.
@MM-xe3esEven though he was okay wrestling all the way over in Japan, all Hulk was willing to do for his home company for the whole two-and-a-half months he was WWF Champion in 1993 was cut promos from the beach where Thunder In Paradise (or whatever straight-to-video stupid action film he was doing at the time) was being shot...
@tomseville2345Developmental is not a brand. That means not is not "the 3rd brand" ... it's televised developmental.
@FrostWazowskiI really thought drew mcintyre was going to beat Roman Reigns at clash at the Castle 2022 and looking back triple h from 2002 to 2005 Being World Champion maturity of those 3 yearsI hated it when I was younger but looking back on it. It just shows that Triple H did his job if everyone hated him Regarding the WrestleMania main event this year I never once got mad about the rock maybe faceing Roman Reigns Cause they'd never officially announced that at the time
@austintucker1586I think the Cody/rock angle was a worked shoot. I’d be my left nut on it 😊
@barlowjmbShould do a video "Wrestlers Who Turned Heel Twice In One Heel Run". Ex: Dominik Mysterio, Stone Cold...
@darielwilliams61255:50 It's still called WWE, Simon
@arleneconverse1238I'm glad you did this. The IWC is very pretentious at times and can't just enjoy dumb fun. Which is what wrestling is.
@gh0rochi363The Stooges and Mean Street Posse combo was great. You got Vince’s stooges and Shane’s stooges
@jonpoon3896The smarks' endless crying over WM9 is hilarious. Nobody minded it except Bret Hart.
@Mangler411As much hate as Cena gets for all the golden shovel stuff, I’m surprised that people don’t note the Brock return more. Not so much because he won (which I don’t think was bad in and of itself), but post match Cena grabs the mic and cuts this promo re: people in the office wanting him to go away. It never went anywhere on TV, but the next night Brock got his heat back by injuring HHH and breaking his arm, which took HHH off of TV for a time. I’ve never heard it reported on, but I’ve always suspected that it was intended, or at least pitched for Brock to injure Cena instead, and that the weird promo at the end was Cena’s way of protesting the decision. A lot’s been said about Brock’s credibility early in his return, but what would it have meant for him to injure the top act in the company instead of HHH, who by that time was already a part timer?
@ThecallmemisterajpRacism’s own hulk hogan
@CanruggerI love how Ric Flair came out after HHH was awarded the belt and said "this is not the way you want to win a world title." Yeah, says the man whose last world title was literally handed to him on TV by Kevin Nash.
@SteelyBudBegging you to pronounce DiBaise's name correctly.
I did enjoy Austin mostly between Triple H getting injured and the Invasion PPV. More for his comedic antics with Vince McMahon and Kurt Angle.
I support all wrestling bit honestly very few things WWE does are genus its more just dumb luck
@Dr_1212I loved the two Undertakers Storyline too. As a child i couldnt even tell who is the real one.
Nowdays it looks dumb but back then it was super cool. But that shows how some storylines are for kids and some dont.
McIntyre getting screwed was never a good idea
@Azailon_The corporate stooges where sometimes funny and sometimes annoying still memorable ether way you look at it
@craigcarlock8910And HHH was the number 1 contender and then Lesnar went smackdown exclusive. Totally justified
