10 Forbidden Places in Ohio You’re Not Allowed to Visit

Video Overview & Insights

10 Forbidden Places in Ohio You’re Not Allowed to Visit. Ohio may look like an ordinary Midwestern state, but hidden across its forests, small towns, and quiet countryside are places the public is strictly forbidden to enter. In this video, we explore ten mysterious locations in Ohio that are off-limits for different reasons. Some are abandoned sites sealed off after dangerous incidents, while others are restricted government facilities, historic properties, or areas surrounded by strange local legends. These places rarely appear on tourist maps, yet they continue to spark curiosity among explorers and history enthusiasts. Through real stories, historical context, and the secrets that still surround them, this documentary-style video reveals why certain locations remain closed to the public. The question is not just what these places are, but what happened there that made authorities decide no one should enter.

Let's talk about New Straitsville still burning after 100 years

— @clintonwashabaugh1387

00:31 : Cincinnati Subway tunnels, Cincinnati

03:23 : Ohio State Reformatory

Molly Stark Hospital is gone now. Torn down at the end of 2025. And there's not much left of the structures and old amusement rides at Chippewa Lake Park.....

— @kenlahmers9648

06:11 : Honeycomb Rocks, Hocking Hills area

08:56 : Chippewa Lake Park – Medina County

Why did you include photos of places that are not even in Ohio? I saw a place I used to visit in Utah. WTH? Also, there are no "snow-capped mountains" in Ohio, nor any oceans and you showed plenty. Deceitful.

— @SlyDelishh

11:32 : Longaberger Basket Building

13:52 : Southern Ohio Correctional Facility, Lucasville

I spent the summers at Chippewa Lake Park. We had a cottage there. Number 94. What this video is not of that park. I have no idea what there showing.

— @martintodd8219

16:37 : Franklin Castle, Cleveland

19:03 : Saltpetre Cave State Nature Preserve, Hocking County

Chippewa Lake, why would you show random pictures of other things that have nothing to do with Chippewa Lake? You do this with some of the other places as well. I was ready to stop watching this video because of this. It makes no sense. If it happens again I’m just not going to watch. It just takes away from the video.

24:15 : Ceely Rose House, Malabar Farm area

There’s a few decent shots of Chippewa Lake Park in the movie Shelby Oaks, which also has a scene in the Mansfield Reformatory and a quick shot of the old Rubber Bowl in Akron, which is now completely gone.
