9:06 for my play, I had to do a sad monologue talking about the loss of my grandpa and the person I was saying it to. I made the director my second scene partner, although I did have an empty chair as my grandpa, they were kind of the "friend" I was venting to, and I think they liked it. I did get a callback and got eventually cast as one of the main characters for that play, so I think it really depends on what you're doing and whether it fits your monologue

I was the only grade 9 in my high school to make it onto singing ensemble for Hadestown, or the cast in general, and I was super nervous, learned the song last minute, etc.

Oh wow skyline children’s theater is so different. Everyone stands in two lines, we are all given a song instead of choosing one, we all sing it together first, then split up smaller and smaller until we take turns doing solos of it. None of these tips apply to me sadly!

If I want to be considered for more that one role - is appropriate to audition twice? Or to let them know I have several pieces prepared and let them pick? Or do I just need to pick one role and go with it?

So I'm auditioning for into the woods and there is no separate room, you preform in front of about 50 other people and their families, they also eat during a break between each time slot, so I think I'm good since mine is at 5:30, but this did help thankss!! Also I'm like so nervous, any tips?

Please check what's on your computer screen at 5:36. You have a syntax problem. Your screen states, "Know the material you're audition with." That's poor grammar. Things like that lead to a serious lack of credibility on your part and makes you look unprepared and unprofessional. Food for thought....

@lauryn_h505I’m scared because I’m auditioning fir the first time for the Percy Jackson musical in my school and I’m a really big fan and so are the directors so this year they preselected the songs we need to learn and I’m worried because one of the ones I need is My grand plan but my voice is way lower that the voice given in the audition package and while I’m not to worried about being too nervous (I know the directors they are my teachers, and the audition is virtual), I am worried about who I will do and if my voice being lower will affect the audition, because when I compete the voice from the package I feel like I’m singing horrible. This is stressing me a lot because the deadline is the 28th. Do you any advice for me?

Im auditioning for a Shakespeare play on friday i was informed of it kinda late and was wondering if it was ok to use a monologe from the character i want. My old theater teacher told me it help the directors see you as the character but im getting worred its not a good thing to do. Ps when i applied for the audition the form asked me if i was good playing other characters if not that one or being apart of tech if not and actor and i said yes to both. Im getting worried i shouldnt do one from the play at all but i would like confirmation

@matthewleavitt4218This is my pet peeve as a teacher who does casting several times a year: it's like they're trying to set your expectation. My choir director can tell if you are sick when you sing. There's no need to tell us that and it seems like you're just trying to guide our expectation. 6:26
