Honestly break is easier than masse....and also spin transfer should be taught before masse....example: 2 balls in line to a pocket you can shoot hard with a ton of bottom which will transfer opposite to first ball contacted, in this case putting top spin on that ball so that it will follow the second after hitting it, sinking both. Another common use of side spin transfer is for bank shots, think of what spin you would add to just the cue ball to get it going where you want....then add opposite spin so that the intended spin transfers to object ball and it bounces off rail as you want. Another side spin use is for really thin cuts ALONG the rail put side spin on the inside of ball you wish to cut (left if you hitting on right side of ball and making it go left), then when you shoot, you actually want the cue ball hit the rail ever so slightly split second before so that the side spin forces cue ball in that left direction...gives you a much better cut for thin shots. Last side spin tip, you can use it to cheat pockets. By using side spin, when it contacts object ball, that ball will move slightly opposite which call really help you cutting into pockets, and / or making it so you can actually aim slightly off for better cue ball positioning on following shot

I went to the pool bar my dad and his friends go a couple of night ago, everybody was super friendly and gave me all kinds of tips, that being said i have about say maybe 1000 hs on a pool table (throughout all my life) and that night the second guy with more hours than me had probably 30.000, i played about 11 games the other night, i literally not only lost every single one, but the guys who i was playing against were going SO EASY ON ME, just giving away shots, now i know what it feels like to download a game and log into the pro lobby only to ger boddied into the ground...it was still alot of fun everybody was super friendly...
