@thila-e7xThe name of the director figures nowhere in the page because in the US, the director is a nobody, nobody cares who directed the movie. They don't know about authors. They think it's enough to mention Stephen King but King didn't direct the movie. These people are so ignorant it's funny..

@sadig114Biggest problem with this film is the ridiculous accent used by Thomas Jane and I would not think that Nebraskans even in the 1920's spoke with such distinctive southern accents. Unless Jan's character was to have emanated from the deep south. In event, much of his dialogue was unintelligible as he often spoke through clenched teeth. Pretty silly aspect to the film.

@creationanomaly6026Honestly, 1922 works as well as it does because the acting carries almost everything. It doesn’t feel like a typical horror movie so much as watching people slowly unravel, and every performance sells that descent. Wilfred James is played as someone who calmly talks himself into disaster, which makes his breakdown feel disturbingly real. Arlette’s presence, even though it’s brief, gives the story its moral backbone, and you feel that loss throughout the film. Henry and the supporting characters all feel grounded and believable, making the horror hit on a human level rather than through cheap scares.
@rememberme344...ANOTHER movie based upon a Stephen King's story???... That guy's unbelievable! 😂 ...he makes them with the "touch of the pen" - with the same ease, as he was ...IDK! ... baking cookies in the oven? 🤣 Not all of them are GREAT movies, but his stories are just great to read - whether they are a 10 pages stupid story about some "machine" possessed by a demon like "The Mangler" or entire books like "IT" and ALL get turned into movies. PS. Just with the mere movie rights to his stories he'd be a multi-milionnaire (not even counting the books he sells).

Just finished reading the novella by Stephen King. Definitely recommend it. I saw the movie when it first came out and remember liking it, but I don't remember too much of it. Now that I've read the book, I will need to watch it again.
