Bought a 25. Now have 2500 miles on it so it's broken in. Got my first speeding ticket yesterday going to Buffalo Trace for some great bourbon. After the 2 sheriffs deps gave me the ticket (clocked at 92...guess he was sleeping...i shut down at 112) they quizzed me about the car and how much fun it is. This car is magic.

I don't care it's not perfect, looks like a million dollars and has a NA V8 more powerful than anyone ever needs and can be had brand new. And it's a Lexus.

Nice having a human voice for the narration. Too bad the narration sounds as if it written as a childish attempt at a follow up to "Portnoy's Complaint."

Almost 500 na hp from a Yamaha v8 with rwd and a 0-60 in the low 4 seconds. Think you can flex that. Especially with the bland sea of cars out now. It’s a cool car, and it’s reliable. You know maybe it’s not super cool for the folks that can afford two cars and a weekend toy but it’s definitely cool when you need to fit somebody in the backseat and can only afford one car while simultaneously not being able to dump $2500 a year and maintenance and unexpected repairs into a German car

you can show off but only to the right people its the kind of car that most wont know how special it really is but those who do does and this give a quite kind flex that is very rewarding.

I guess I'm one of the weird ones as well. I have 3 Lexus GS's. A stupid clean 1998 GS300 with the 2jzge, a 2008 GS450h (rare performance Hybrid), and now a 2017 GSF pearl white with red interior. I love em..

The truth of this review hit like s tone of bricks. A great car in itself but its constantly compared to its predecessor and it's competitors. It will be better used in 7 years

1:05 you did a disservice to the camry
the camry is WAY smoother than the is500, at least the 2018-24 generation
because lexus has the f sport suspension which is not ideal for the super smooth vibe of the camry

I recently bought an IS500 and it presents you with a sublime driving experience. Made in the Toyota Tahara plant, the build quality is about as good as it gets. Dated to me means buttons, engaging, and no recalls. I think the Tesla S is the best looking EV out there but man, that interior is awful. Do everything with a screen? Hell no. No, it isn't pure F car but the "Sport" part of it should tell you all you need to know. It's a Grand Touring masterpiece with gorgeous looks, buttery smooth- sweet sounding motor, LSD to hang the backend out when you feel like it, quiet cabin, smooth but taught suspension settings...the perfect GT. I plan to keep this car forever.

Buy this IS500, or buy a used old Camry to daily and a used R35?

I hope these car companies start failing from making stupid A** decisions based on what some government agencies demand from them. The twin turbo V6 is Biting Toyota right now. GM has almost 100% failure rate on emissions pandering lifters. I could go on and on

Owned an 08IS350 FSport and now an 18GS350 FSport. I really wish L would have ran the last year of the GS with the 5.0L V8 not in their GSF trim.

As an owner of a grand seiko and machined aluminum pen, i finally understand why I cant shake this car from my thoughts.

The guy who bought that IS500 was thinking the same thing I was when I bought the Stinger GT. I wanted an actual motor, an actual transmission (CVTs make me puke), good luxury without sacrificing practicality in terms of infotainment and climate controls. Just enough buttons to keep me sane when interacting with the car. The shift to EVs is already happening and faster than I expected. That is why I bought this car before we never see it again. In 20 years, we will all yearn for a car with a soul.

IS500 F Sports are the better built car that CT5 Blackwings wish they were. Sure, the Cadillac is super nice and probably way faster, but it’s not as nice

Don’t own the IS500, but traded a 18’ IS350 for a new RC F. Toyota/Lexus manufacture the finest motors on the market. Thank God Toyota never fell for the EV scam, & still remain the largest, most successful manufacturer on the planet….Go figure! Nobody’s buying those embarrassing looking bubble vehicle’s. EV market is dead, but Lexus quality is alive & well. Simply the best value, performance, & reliability money can buy.

That’s so accurate. The is500 is the right car at the wrong time. If this came out 10-5 years ago it’d be the winner amongst its pears.

This guy is hating on the is500 because he can't afford it. The is500 is all about the engine, reliability, and comfort all from the company who do cars best which is LEXUS!!! Go drive your crappy beaver toothed grilled bmw or other german POS which will end up in the repair shop before you know it. Or go by a tree hugging electric car and get ready for endless electrical software problems and subscriptions to just use the damn AC!
