Just got mine! 26 limited for 33k! Had them take off the sti exhaust when it comes into port, saved me almost 2k.

Living close to Lake Erie is the reason I needed a WRX with snow tires.

The speaker is not comparable. Upgraded a premium to a GT and the audio is night and day and I put kicker speakers in the dash and all 4 doors.

Get the HK upgrade.

Bought a brand new 2025 back in May, and honestly love everything about it other than the steering. The brakes are light and mushy like you said but also pretty strong, so not an issue when you get used to them. I had a 2017 prior to the 2025 and the 2025 has way better suspension, a much better interior, and a much more consistent torque response curve. I just installed a strut bar and continue to plan on making very light mods to it. Best car I've owned.

I’m on the fence of getting one. I currently drive a fwd mazda3 but I moved to an area where it can snow heavily. Prices right now are crazy. I’m learning stick then looking at a used 2023 with 15k miles.

I really don’t know what I want. I want a fast fun car with good reliability and fuel economy. But I don’t like the way the GTI looks, and I’ve never driven manual and want one.. so the Mazda 3 turbo is auto only. Also the Mazda interior is miles ahead of the WRX.. this will be tough

The HK system is absolutely EXCELLENT. Completely worth the money with the moonroof.
Adaptive cruise in the automatic is exceptionally good.

Damn. I currently drive a 2008 TSX AT love the thing but I want a new car. Picking between WRX, Si, CTR or TLX. Decisions decisions

I cross shopped the same alternatives before buying a 2023 WRX (basically the same vehicle as the 2022). I wanted AWD and a manual transmission and I wanted to pay less than $40k. The only other cars that were even close to fitting my requirements were the VW Golf R and the Toyota GR. At that time, the Golf R had the stupid capacitive controls on the steering wheel and the dealers wanted way more than I was will to pay. And, at that time, the Toyota dealers wanted you to sign an agreement to even test drive the GR and they were charging at least $10k above MSR. I was able to get my WRX Limited with the features I wanted for just under MSR and I was able to pick it up 4 days after I signed the paperwork. I now have about 20k miles on the car and I think it is the best car I have owned... My previous car was a 2014 WRX and the 2023 WRX is much better, much more sold, better suspension, better shifter, and the power delivery is much better. And the 2023 delivers 25% better gas mileage than the 2014. I would have liked to at least test driven the Toyota GR but I doubt I would have bought it over the WRX.

I drive a 2023 Premium WRX blue. I did install a Perrin intake, steering wheel, Billet Works short shifter and STI exhaust. I owned car 2 years 20.000 miles

Yeah stereo is next upgrade

The HK in my 2023 WRX sounds great for a stock system and has better bass with the included sub than the under seat sub on my 2004 and 2011 WRX cars. The newest infotainment system update has full screen Android Auto now and is less laggy than before.

If you don't want a nanny system that can slam on the brakes or rip the steering out of your hand like some crazy passenger seat driver (or having to disable it every stinking time you start the car) then get a used '22 or '23 which doesn't have it on the manual transmission variants. Android Auto isn't wireless on these two years, but a cheap $25 adapter/dongle fixes that.

eh, give us your 70k mile review then ill take your word for it. ALL WRX's blow up around 60kish. When their business model is to not warranty anything you see how this happens lol

8:50 100% agree! I love driving, and greatly prefer a more raw driving experience. Plus, my base model weighs almost 300 lbs less than the fully optioned model. That’s huge.

Looove my manual 2022 WRX! On paper, the improvements seem minor until you dig into the details. The engineering on the new engine is brilliant. The wider power band lets you dig into the throttle 700-800 rpm earlier than the previous generation, which is so much fun. And there’s no rev hang now, which was really annoying in 2021 and earlier WRX’s. Also, the stock 2022’s drivetrain is so efficient that they get nearly identical hp at the wheels as the 2020 STI. There are tons of videos of the VB WRX keeping up with STI’s in the QM. It’s an amazing car.

Plus, a Cobb OTS tune (no hardware added, just software tweaks) can add up to 50hp and 100+ tq *at the wheels*. Insane!

One thing about this latest gen WRX that gets overlooked is how good it is for heel and toe braking. Not just the pedal spacing, but how easily the engine zings up 1000 rpms when you stab the throttle with the right side of your foot while braking before a corner. Heel and toe is a super fun hobby you can practice and get better at every time you drive, and it's extremely rewarding. Some find manuals a chore, others find them super engaging and fun in the right vehicle like this one. The car also doesn't get enough credit for how much of a death grip it has on the road, even with the stock Dunops. Everyone bemoans the lack of steering feel, and I agree. But the first time I cut the wheel like a maniac at a left turn in an attempt to get some slide action, the thing just stayed planted and flat and did not break free, didn’t even chirp a tire. I was astonished.

I dunno about how much of a steal the Civic Si is... when I checked it out a week ago it was marked up by the dealer with $2k of dealer installed nonsense and a straight up $5k "market adjustment fee." Love the VB WRX though, almost bought one today but got thwarted by the dealer haha!

Just got a '24 limited for 3k below msrp w/ 0% financing. If someone is considering one, its probably worth swinging by your Subie dealer

I looked at several new cars before settling on a 2024 WRX Limited. The GR Corolla was nice, but not THAT nice. Have been quite happy with the WRX.

I bought a 2023 with only 4k miles for 27.5k .. best all around car especially for a dad who wants to take the mountain pass to and from work just for fun!!!

I'm looking to upgrade my 2014 honda Accord and the wrx WAS on my short list. However, a good sound system and a quieter interior was high on my list of wants. Sounds like WRX doesn't have either 😢

Wrx was the cheapest option, unless you NEED awd Elantra n wins all the segments

I"ve owned 27 cars in my life. My previous two favorites were my 96 Integra GS-R, and my 2003 Jetta 1.8T GLS. When we had kids and moved to NW PA, I had to get an SUV to shuttle them around. Years of dreadful SUVs. Now they are mostly all of driving age, so I picked up the '23 WRX Premium with the moonroof and HK stereo. Drunkman E30 tune, AWE Touring exhaust, ETS intake and some cosmetic do-dads and the car is just an absolute joy to drive. You laugh every time you drive it.

Someone will always have a faster car than you. I don't care about numbers, I drive for me and my fun, not to get in street races. This car is a blast on the roads, dirt roads, snow, whatever you throw at it.

I recommend a shift plate from billetworkz or Cobb, their shift bushing, and cobbs shift stop. This makes the shift experience way better. Better even than the stock Miata and civics.
