24 London Secrets Most Tourists Never Discover

Video Overview & Insights

Here are some of the best hidden gems of London (Victoria, Belgravia, Westminster & Mayfair) 🇬🇧

wonderful🎉

— @EasyEnglishLearning717

London is a world in of itself and there's never enough time to fully explore the UK capital. This also means that there's a plethora of hidden gems to discover. We'll begin our exploration of off the beaten path spots by heading to Belgravia, a residential neighbourhood with fine houses and haunted pubs.

We'll then head to Victoria, a district which is a major transport hub but hides secrets like shell houses, a mini big ben clock and one of the most beautiful cathedrals in London. Then it's time to explore Westminster, where we'll stumble on historic statues, centuries old buildings hidden in plain sight and even learn more about the oldest shop in London.

Love your videos! Just one suggestion; quit saying "actually" every other sentence.

— @RussellEngelke

Mayfair is now one of the most exclusive residential districts in the world but it wasn't always that way. Home to pretty parks and plenty of history we'll learn about some of the best-kept secrets of Mayfair, including one of the smallest sculptures in London and one of its most historic pubs.

🎥 What to watch next:

you shoulda tried on some hats, Soph, so's we could see whether or not you're a "hat chick"! hahaha. p.s. bet you ARE. keep filmin'!

I've been a London enthusiast for years, have visited at least 10 times, and watch any video about London I can find. I think yours are just among the finest, and I can't wait for a collab with JoolzGuides or John Rogers, you would have so much to tell and make us discover !

What a brilliant video I’m originally from Pimlico Victoria and very close to the station and it’s so lovely as you say there’s so many places around there they’re just amazing. Thank you for posting just brilliant. I’m gonna have to take a trip up there and rekindle my memories of a child growing up around there and also to say by Westminster Cathedral so many of my dad’s family got married in a cathedral and christening and say it was all under my nose and I never realised

A delightful walk around London - thank you!
A few extras:
The Grenadier pub was where Jim Ratcliffe (INEOS and Manchester United owner) was having a drink and bemoaning Land Rover's decision to stop building their Defender and he decided to build an new, British, 4WD vehicle and call it . . . The Grenadier (it's actually built in France but, hey!).
Didn't realise any of the old cabbie huts still existed - my grandfather, who died in 1904 when my Dad was just 18 months old, was a Hansom cab drive and would have known these well.
The Westminster Jewel Tower still had water in its moat in the 1970s - crystal clear and there were rainbow trout swimming in it - nobody believes me. They use to hold a collection of weights and measures inside dating back to Elizabeth I.
I think I'll rewatch it and plot out a route to see it for myself.
Once again, thanks for the video!

EDIT - started rewatching it and noticed there's a Grenadier parked outside of the Grenadier!

Met Ricky Hatton (RIP) in the Grenadier. They specialised in Bloody Mary's when we were there and their food is decent.

It is an Islamic city now and must be respected as such, London mayor has spent years in a peaceful transition and hence many of these places will be destroyed as against the new beliefs.

Thank you so much for this really appreciated. You remind me how lucky I am for all its faults to have been born (in the West End) and live in London for most of my too many decades!!
The part on Berkeley Square and the pause in your film on no. 44 was interesting.

I had one of the best bacon sandwiches of my life at the cab shelter at Warwick Station in March. £4.70 for a massive bacon sandwich and excellent cup of tea in London which I ate while walking thru Little Venice to Paddington Station on a lovely sunny day. Bliss.

If you go into the entrance to royal academy in piccadilly ,you will see the original versions of the old red phone boxes , if memory serves they are slightly different . They were designed by Sir Gilbert Scott in 1924 .

Wanna have your scooter taken from you in broad daylight go to London. Yes welcome khans London a lovely warm welcoming place. 😂😂

You might say that the bad press London gets is just from right wing you-tubers broadcasting doom. As a life long Londoner I had to leave the part of London I lived in due to the opposite of gentrification. Now when I read the local Facebook groups for the area all I hear about is crime such as stabbing, even a recent shooting, the bus station turned into a urine sodden homeless shelter, gangs fighting outside fast food outlets, pickpocket teams, useful shops closing only to be replaced by dubious new ones, need I go on? For a while, my front driveway was used by a local dealer as his sales point. When I go back to visit, I see with my own eyes that this isn't right wing scare mongering, but the plain truth. I saw most of this happening years before before I left in any case, it's just got worse now. This is by no means the case across all of London - many areas have indeed been gentrified. But hard luck if you're in one that's gone the opposite way. It's very upsetting, as I still consider London to be my home. Apart from areas like the one I lived in (which are sadly spreading) it does remain a world leading city.
