I loved yoyr tips. I actually am using most of them. I always cook meals that yield leftovers., I have done subscriptiom churning for awhile now, I also local tailors to replace zippers and clasps, I drink coffee at home, and I find books that are offered free in pdf files, I habe been using AI to track our spending using a dry erase board. I also had to let go of crafting because it was yielding nothing bur half finished piles of craft material. Budgetingnhas helped us spend only 53% of our monthly income for day to day life and leaving 47% to save.

I’m nitpicking but talking about oats being multipurpose and then just listing different varieties of oatmeal breakfasts isn’t that exciting, lol. They can also be used to stretch out portions of meat, make homemade granola or granola bars, no-bake cookies as well as a few skincare uses. They are definitely a kitchen staple!

I agree with many other comments about living alone. Living alone can be the better choice for many people even though it's more expensive. Roommates can save you money but they can also cause big headaches. I'd rather have more peace, better sleep and mental health than extra dollars in the bank.

I do all these things except always having roommates. I didn't know I was living an extremely frugal life, most of these habits were born out of being both poor and responsible. I would rather not have Starbucks daily and get to have my own place. I'm no longer poor but I'm still financially responsible. People wonder why I'm able to travel often and well.... and it's bc of the choices my husband and I make daily. it's all about what you prioritize.

I usually agree with most of the things and advice you share, but I honestly found that part really disappointing. saying there's a whole genre of videos of women living alone online and implying that it's neither safe nor realistic felt pretty outdated and, honestly, a bit patronizing. if the point was simply about saving money, there wasn't really any need to make it specifically about women. framing it that way reinforces the idea that women shouldn't live independently because it's "too dangerous," while the same expectation isn't placed on men.

it also felt especially surprising to hear that perspective followed by the fact that you've never actually lived by yourself. which makes it come across as more of an assumption than something based on personal experience.

I learned to cut my own hair years ago and never looked back. I do such a better job than any stylist I’ve ever been to and now live my hair… win/win.

I am a Sri Lankan. We do not buy adults gifts, but instead we enjoy the time together sharing a good meal. Thanks for this insightful video. It has helped me a lot. When I see something in a store, I don't purchase it immediately, but let it rest and I don't need it anymore. Also bargains don't interest me now.

I could save a thousand a year if I only let my hair go grey and stopped getting highlights and tints. I just cant do it, I dont like grey hair LOL As an avid reader, I purchase all my books from the local Age UK charity shop, and they only cost me 30 pence

I've recently started cutting my own hair, and what's hilarious is they're the best haircuts I've ever had (turns out finding a hairdresser who can actually cut curls is near impossible even though that's literally their job?).

I will die by the "cook once, eat twice" rule -- it saves me so much time and money. And it means I get delicious leftovers to take to work for lunch (I'm slowly convincing my coworkers that this is the way to go as they're all jealous of my proper meals when they just have sad sandwiches and UPF snacks)

I do live alone, but I have an incredibly good deal with my landlord (I'm technically site security), and my house is also tiny and ugly (it's literally a shipping container), but if I didn't have this arrangement I would absolutely live with others to save money.
