Thank you, this was extremely helpful. I'm a hard surfaces modeler in my professional life (Maya) and have recently started experimenting with 3D printing for fun. I was working on some scale furniture pieces for a hobbyist friend that collects airplane models and I was getting a little frustrated because the details were not coming out as clean as I would like. To be fair, I'm trying to be accurate within .5mm, and the pieces I'm replicating are quite small.

Variable layer height is cool, but is a problem with transparent filaments. Here you can see horizontal lines where the layer height changes, especially at higher values like 0.08 parts changing to 0.3 for example.
