5 Easy Bambu Studio Settings for Smoother 3D Prints

Video Overview & Insights

If you’ve been trying to get smoother 3D prints, cleaner walls, and fewer layer lines in Bambu Studio, this tutorial is going to help you level up fast. In today’s video, I break down five simple Bambu Studio settings that instantly boost print quality — no sanding, no filler primer, just clean results straight off the printer. 🔥🖨️

Thanks that helped me a lot

— @BabyAryanDIY

These tips work on every Bambu Lab printer — P1P, P1S, X1, A1, P2S — and they are beginner-friendly.

✨ Here’s what you’ll learn:

enjoign these

— @ZeroMatrixStudio

• How layer height presets affect smoothness and when to switch between .4 mm and .2 mm nozzles

• Why A-series printers can print ultra-fine .06 mm layers for extremely clean surfaces

Thank you, this was extremely helpful. I'm a hard surfaces modeler in my professional life (Maya) and have recently started experimenting with 3D printing for fun. I was working on some scale furniture pieces for a hobbyist friend that collects airplane models and I was getting a little frustrated because the details were not coming out as clean as I would like. To be fair, I'm trying to be accurate within .5mm, and the pieces I'm replicating are quite small.

— @Split_Heritage

• How to turn on Advanced Mode to access real print-quality tools

• Why changing Order of Walls to Outer ➝ Inner gives you cleaner, sharper outer surfaces

Thanks - great tips!

— @jackrubin

• What Avoid Crossing Walls does and why it can prevent blobs and surface defects

• How slowing down Outer Wall Speed eliminates vibrations, ringing, and rough texture

you do a great job thanks for letting us learn from you

— @Steve-e7l9d

• How Variable Layer Height gives you smooth curves without doubling print time 🌀

If you're tired of:

Do i need to select all of these in every print or do they stay selected everytime??

— @dannma6019

❌ visible layer lines

❌ rough surfaces

Thanks!

— @boeingt7236

❌ stepping on curved models

❌ inconsistent outer walls

I'm not sure it outer to inner wall would work properly with my next print (the Deadpool helmet). Im trying to picture it in my head but I'm not sure

— @KingShaka87

…then these settings will help you fix them immediately.

This video is perfect for anyone printing:

Just to be clear, you changed the nozzle setting but didn't physically change the 4mm nozzle🤔

— @KingShaka87

• Miniatures

• Cosplay props

Wow, that was an awesome explanation. Lots of setting confuse me because I’m still new and so many tutorials claim they are for beginners, but assume pre-knowledge and skip over important details. Excuse me while I go binge the rest of your tutorials.

— @Strugglebuswoodworking

• Statues

• Functional parts

Nothing I do helps, am about to throw my p2s in the trash

— @DGOCollectiblesTCG

• Smooth aesthetic models

• Anything where clean surface finish matters 🎨

Respect for being so easy

— @Higzy35

My goal is to help you get clean, smooth, professional prints without overcomplicating the slicer.

If this tutorial helps you, hit that like button 👍 and drop a comment — I love hearing what topics you want next. I’ve got a ton of Bambu Studio and 3D printing content on the way.

If I get .8 nozzle can I get smooth layers

Mate, you explained this to me as if I were a two year old child.

Thank you.

I have watched a few of your videos now and you are by far, the best at teaching us how to go about improving our prints. I have subbed, and look forward to binging on your videos.

Again, thank you.

Variable layer height is cool, but is a problem with transparent filaments. Here you can see horizontal lines where the layer height changes, especially at higher values like 0.08 parts changing to 0.3 for example.

Thank you Prusa for contributing so much into slic3r (PrusaSlicer) project, it is too bad that companies like bamboo is alright with stealing all others hard work while not contributing anything back to the project.
