I'm from Cincinnati myself. i was born and raised here. I can say with full certainty that this city is overrated at best. The people are rude and most of them are shallow. Most of Cincinnati looks run down, except the areas that try to bring tourist in and even then, those places are god awful expensive. Both sports teams are a joke and while i like the reds, I cant stand the bengals and have not supported them in over 30 years. What they won't tell most people about Cincinnati is all the crime they try to hide and all the shady places there are. Cincinnati style chili is nasty as hell and messy. If you're single, Cincinnati isn't the place for you, unless you have money to burn. Most of the people here are catholic and wear it like a badge or something. i live here and have lived here for most of my life and honestly, I would strongly advise people not to move here. They would be making a big mistake.

I lived in Cincinnati from 2004-2015. I LOVED it and still miss it every day. Everything you mentioned about the weather and allergies is true. However, this city has character, food, entertainment and a community feel that make up for the downside. It’s a great town for raising kids.
I grew up in up in Louisiana. I’ve lived in Chicago, Minnesota, Lexington and Louisville, KY and Charleston. Cincinnati tops them all for me.

The humidity has nothing to do with the river. It’s humid because of the Gulf of Mexico. It’s not as bad overall as the South, and not every day is miserable.

Coming from New Orleans, the spaghetti streets here still throw me around, even 10 years later!
I was excited when Cinci announced the “street car” imagining the old style street cars akin to Nola and olden Cinci. And then I saw it. Blrgh.
And I’m one of those who never had allergies and then I moved here and had allergies 😢
But as a native Ohioan, I will love Cinci eternally!
