It’s a well known fact that Gordon Ramsay isn’t usually a fan of the cuisine on offer at the Kitchen Nightmares restaurants. However, over the many, many shows there have been a FEW examples of brilliantly cooked and seasoned food. We spent several years trawling through the episodes with a fine tooth-comb and eventually found them. Enjoy.

I'm gonna be controversial here. Its no secret that Alan and Jen were the villains in Burger Kitchen. But I think we are giving David a bit too much credit. He still could not cook the burgers properly. Even if it's Alan's recipes, that shouldn't matter. You still should be able to turn out consistent quality, and not raw burgers.
Also his redemption burger looks nice. But he had a lot of time to gather ingredients, worked on ONE BURGER and screwed up the temperature (he was going for medium rare but got medium)
Even if that single burger is good, I doubt he could make 50 of them during a dinner service. They also have margins to consider. Just because that burger is amazing doesn't mean it's viable for the menu.
Again HE WAS NOT THE CULPRIT of the episode but people give him too much credit

I could care less if someone says they're a 'medium rare' person, IT'S A FUCKING BURGER. If you don't cook it all the way through, you've failed as a cook. There's no such fucking thing as a 'medium rare' burger, there's cooked, and then there's food poisoning.

@brightlightstmNote a key theme with these - the food is always something simple. Cakes, burgers, chowder, fried fish and ribs. Some of the most common foods you can find on a menu.
It's one reason I like Gordon's approach. The man knows that just because food is basic/more accessible, it doesn't make it any worse than the more expensive/fancy stuff out there.
