IIHS 2025 Crash Test Results: Winners and Losers Among 7 Electric Vehicles
The full detailed results are available here: https://www.iihs.org/news/detail/iihs-unveils-new-ratings-for-seven-electric-vehicles
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has released crash test results for seven 2025 electric vehicles. Five earned solid ratings in the key moderate overlap front test, while two fell short on rear-passenger protection.
The BMW i4, Chevrolet Blazer EV, Tesla Cybertruck (post-April 2025 models), and Volkswagen ID.Buzz all earned good ratings, while the Tesla Model 3 was rated acceptable. In contrast, the Ford F-150 Lightning (poor) and Nissan Ariya (marginal) showed good driver protection but higher risks of chest, head, or neck injuries for rear-seat passengers.
Чаще на трассе идёт несколько ударов спереди и потом сзади если туман или гололёд нужна динамические защита как на танке пакеты с подушками
In pedestrian crash prevention, the i4, Lightning, Cybertruck, and Model 3 performed well, while headlight performance remains a weak point across all models — with the Cybertruck and i4 rated poor.
So far, none of the seven EVs qualify for IIHS’s TOP SAFETY PICK or TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards due to shortcomings in crash, headlight, or overlap test results.
Nooooo Cybertruck🥺😢😭

1:42 BMW i4
In the 1990's a German magazine had crash tests done on cars where the cars where accelerated under their own power, leaving all systems including fuel intact. Two of the cars caught fire in the crashes. It would be interesting to see that included in crash test, at least on regular cars since the risk of fire in EV''s is extremely low in case of an accident. I can for sure say that cars today is much safer. Even the worst car today beats nearly any car of the 1990's. https://youtu.be/PjhLbXYCod8?si=rfULgj1AS4tmi-E-

3:54 Volkswagen ID.Buzz
4:45 Tesla Model 3
Worst thing about the Cybertruck isnt how it crushes during a crash, but rather the lack of door handles which means the car cant be quickly evacuated during a fire or in the case the vehicle is submerged in water. The "emergency releases" aren't obvious and seconds matter
5:28 Nissan Ariya
6:20 Ford F-150 Lightning
they all hate Tesla cyber trucks because they’re ugly

How come you didn't show the views of the driver position on the Teslas like you did on the other vehicles?
And I agree with other comments that an explanation of the ratings is important.
#CRASHTEST #TeslaCrash
why the bmw closed the window?

what is the average speed of these crashes? Is it realistic to the average national speed used in crashes?
@ABodyMysteriesAt 6:13, NOTICE that the seat belt on the the rear-seat passenger SLID UP to the dummie's ABDOMEN!!! That action is called "SUBMARINING" because the body SLIDES UNDER the seat belt. THOSE SEATS are NOT ANTI-SUBMARINE SEATS (YES, Anti-Submarine Seats DO EXIST.) My Volvo XC70 Wagon has Anti-Submarine Seats in the REAR AND in the FRONT SEATS. Best of all, my Volvo XC70 wagon is TWENTY TWO YEARS OLD: it is a 2004 Volvo XC70 Wagon!! Volvo car corporation was FOUNDED on SAFETY. VOLVO for LIFE❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤!!!
@j.b.9581I thought that guy was Vince Gilligan for a second....
@solnative706Hey folks, they literally explained in the description why the F-150 got a poor rating, and I mean, look at that rear seat dummy. Broken collar bone at a minimum
@EricLSSo impressive to see how far auto safety has come.
@kzar42HUPS
@JitkaPenzesova1:44 The bmw took the whole crash barrier
@ThatRobloxPlayerOfficialEven though the F-150 stops well, we all know in reality no F-150 driver would stop in time
@Atomic_shamanTry to open the door of the Cybertruck! It will not be possible from the outside! The rating is wrong!
@bluebear6570Is cyber truck really safe, I mean the a pillar got bent
@dakshpathak6285All the kids survived until that darn VW
@RichardAllen7753I want to work here bro It must be so cool 😢
@Ssha1dyI mean just think about it, the Elon Musk "aura" convinced all these SUCKERS to buy Cybertrucks! Can't make this sh*t up. Don't get me started on the SpaceX IPO...
@Mr.SharkTooth-zc8rmWhy is all the safety gear INSIDE the car? Outside the USA we actually have pedestrians that get killed and injured every day because morons throw two and a half tonnes of metal at them.
@duncanfairbairn2195They should check to see if the doors can be opened on the Teslas after impact.
@MerlinMan1579where is the model y
@eang333I like thes second car
@CrashUniverse-aiCrash test Sherman tanks, Bulldozers and Cruise Ships
@averysamuel3719Do SU7
@Summertime25-b9lIt's the best the cybertruck has looked
@Mwoods-vl4kbThe best part of that video is when the cybertruck has been destroyed
@germaincaron716Okay, admit it- we all wanted to see the walking dummy get plastered just once.
@geoffbp58Can you please crash all the cybertrucks so we don't have to see these ugly, ridiculous things anymore?
@tourist6290Cool
@natehill8069I never knew knee airbags exist
Amerikanisch eben. Da zählt ein Menschenleben wenig.
It would take them 3x as long to clean the freeway after the Cybertruck accident, I do know that. Shrapnel city!
@chemicaljonezв шевроле даже манекены руками машут!
@АлексейАлексеев-р9г2фPretty ballsy testing EV's inside it would seem
@heyitsvosInterestingly, all crash tests show how drivers behave. everywhere, but not on Tesla. So there's something wrong there.
@ПавелСмык-т7цWe need smarter drivers, not smarter cars
@jeffjohnson6377As much as you want to say that auto braking saves lives you are completely wrong! All that system does is prevent drunk drivers from hitting things!
@shaun8256Wow
@Abdulellahis300What the hell is that banging??????????
@Knudjensen54They should have tested a few hundred cybertrucks, just to be sure
@KSCPMark6742К сожалению в реальной жизни все намного печалльней
@valeris6114That last bit... who drives that slowly? Let's see that again at 60 mph. Thanks
@johnadams-wp2ybI’m not sure if the Cybertruck looks better before or after the accident.
@gottliebdee263The Cybertruck is awesome. After a crash, if it doesn't kill you, you'll be picking glass out of your eyes. That's amazing.
@daggereall77519:08 why acceptable? It didn’t hit the pedestrian!
Okey the night test failed
It would nice to have points why some cars are good why some are bad
@antonfloor344
