Why have not mentioned how dirty, how messy about tracffic, air polution? Overrated, this unfair, this nor right.

Why don't they mention in these type of videos how unorganized and disrespectful the people are when driving how theirs literally no police the stops people when committing traffic violations how everyone double parks everywhere and blocks your way. How theirs zero accountability How establishments block public parking spaces and people close entire streets to set up flee markets. How noone signals while driving and you have to always guess how people drive un insured and wont pay for damages and good luck suing people it takes years to make someone accountable. The way people just build with regulations and don't leave sidewalks and you can no longer drive to ways how the streets are full of potholes how people play loud music the whole night and the list goes on and on you have to experience it first for a good year then decide if you can live with that because it is daily thing you will have to live with and its very hard getting used to if you come from a country that has order and rule of law. Mexico is a country where everything looks just fine on the surface at first glance but believe me its not what it says it is its a tourist trap.

I will be visiting friends in Chapala but rather than rent an apartment (which would make fewer rentals for locals),
I am renting a room from a Mexican family my friends know. The rent I pay will help them refurbish their main bathroom 😅

Mexican here, living in Uruapan and Guadalajara (not at the same time) 😂; some recos:

1. Girl, you should watch your YT CC, might as well want to hard-code English captions, many of your HD viewers won't be able to descipher Waka or Chala or Llende... You get the idea.
2. Consider Aguascalientes and Zacatecas, latter a vicinity of Puebla but since you included Chapala it's only fair. Aguascalientes is a great place to live; safe for a starter but it also has an excellent gastro offering and also a huge Japanese population. Zacatecas not so much on gastro offering but is considered one of the most beautiful cities, sometimes compared to Prague.
3. Chapala tho US visitors and expats friendly, is not a great place to move on foot, unless you regularly do marathons.
4. You missed that Guadalajara Metro is a place to enjoy food from the world over, maybe only second to CDMX (with reserves).
5. Update your estimates. Familiar with Guadalajara a 120m flat in a not swank or elegant area, will command at least Mx$20k that with the strong peso is translating now at less than US$1k.
6. Puebla: You miss also the vicinity to Tlaxcala for a feast of ancient indian and Spanish fare plus the city's own diversity (and excellency) of restaurants of all styles and nationalities. There are large German, Spanish and Lebanese communities there so you might pick; then there is some of the best pre-hispanic food in all of Mexico. La Fonda de Santa Clara is a Michelin Guide restaurant, reserve at least three months in advance.

Saludos Mariana. Mencionaste que el costo de vida en Chapala es 3,000 dolares para un hogar de dos. Que tal si uno compra casa? Ya no habría costo de alquiler. En este caso seria menos. Yo pensé que tener un presupuesto de 1,000 USD sería suficiente (si tenemos casa propia). No es así?

San Miguel de Allende sounds as if once upon a time, and perhaps deep under its skin still, is a city that was stunningly beautiful, steeped in the history of another time, and full of culture. A 10% US population makes a place I will avoid completely.

It is lovely to hear the presentation made by a first language Mexican speaker.

I've been to Queretarro since I was a child, and my mom's sister & family live there... it's hot, and I've never liked it. Puebla was beautiful; I've yet to visit the other places mentioned. Especially Guanajuato, as that is where my family comes from.

Perfect places if you want to get killed, kidnapped or robbed. Also Mexico is extremely expensive. If you want to permanently get rid of your mother in law, book a nice Mexico vacation.

Thank you so much for sharing your list. I have seen San Miguel Alle on another channel. It is a beautiful city. I gathered that a person would get a lot of exercise due to it being a very walkable city. I was looking for Campeche to be on your list. This is a lovely city that I wish to visit one day. Merida, Yucatan is my first city to go visit for a month. I really like the vibe, the food and the available transportation. I am viewing from College Park, MD; which i 5 miles from Washington DC line.

I moved to Querétaro in 2016, stil have no regrets.

I am watching from Jonesborough, Tennessee USa. My wife and I are thinking about retiring in Mexico in 2032 when we retire (or sooner). I have visited San Miguel, Mexico City and zihuatenjo and would like to visit Merida, Oaxaca and a few other cities before deciding on which city to consider. Thank you for your videos and guide.

I hear that some areas of Mexico 🇲🇽 in the mountains have cold and snow. Where would i be able to experience this in what part of Mexico. That is the area i would want to live in.
