There are hardly any stakes, let alone "high" to serving the wrong coffee order. The worst is you lose a customer or get a bad review.
What a moronic take, truly.

First off, we prefer to be called General Utility or Steward, not a dishwasher.... we help do way more than dishes! Prep,truck, get things for Chef, or even help cook if you're so inclined. I made more than the starting cooks. This is in response to your NYC video about GU's.... since comments are paused.

Insane how much we have romanticised being a barista. You put the coffee in a machine and press a button. A McDonald's worker has as much influence on their product.

@briangara9708The Australian tourists came back. Must mean the coffee is actually good! 😂
@lindysadventuresPriya, I hope NYTs pays you your worth of everything you bring to journalism, because you are most of the reason I watch!
@jadejasmine315I really enjoyed watching this!!😊
@nevazkanAnd this is why we need to raise the minimum wage to actual livable median income for every year
@DonDonSmilesI love this so much. Arnaldo , I appreciated your description of being a barista and your passion to it. I am a college student at Dartmouth and I always wanted to work in the Cafe where they serve students coffee every day, because I always loved the Cafes' culture and how this place resembles a cross-road for different minds and lives, and a barista is like being the architect of making these people's day. After nagging for two terms, finally the manager gave me a spot and now I am learning latte art as well! It so joyful to see people thanking you for a cup of coffee or complementing my naive latte art. I am inspired by your story so much. I know I love this and I related to your point where you mentioned how people take it as a "college job" or not as important, but people like you are rich because you know you are doing what you love and making actual people go through their days. I loved that video so much man and I will make sure to visit next time I come down to NYC, one of these days, after I help my community and my home, I will have my own Cafe where I serve people lattes and Arabic coffee just like you—much love.
@omarDplanShocked he wasnt the owner!!
@lordemiley3:34 Where it turns into a performance

@EstelleGuei-s7kThank you so much for this! Loved every moment of this and learning more about the work of a barista. And that Arnaldo was given the option to move to NYC - it just shows that smaller business owners actually care about their employees. Unlike large companies...!
@pleasedtoreadyouI love his coffee ☕️ vibes

@AsddAssd-y9d“If you like it you’re successful” exactly all of that other shit doesn’t matter, I’m glad he found what he’s passionate about
@yeah-j2dSo americans have real coffee . Good to know. I was concerned that sugary iced cocktail with hint of coffee is their version of "coffee"
@salemas5this is good to shAre..inspiring,motivational..like the positive attitude of ronaldo..im planning to be a barista,,
@skidheartThis host needs a new job. She stands in the middle of the shot. No idea what she's doing or how coffee is even made like you think she could do some research. I think the producer should just be there with the person without the host at all. She adds nothing to this show and she stands in the middle of the shot
@monstermasher86Here in the Philippines, our basis for saying a barista is good is if they have a tattoo.
@MoyameeI'm a fairly new barista, I don't think I can call myself that yet but oh well 😅😅 I have a question... during your rush hours, how do you manage to measure every shot?? 😮 And what do you recommend for me to do to get better at this beautiful craft. Thank you 😊
@karlareyes4688I’ve been a nurse for 15 years, and watching them have to serve ALL of those people, so quickly and efficiently, and the attention to detail, 😮💨😮💨😮💨 it makes me anxious just watching, God Bless them for making sure we all have our morning fuel and doing it so well ❤ Arnaldo, you are a sweetheart 😊
@NoneYa-c5pnice workflow, nice speed and what a nice hospitality for a fast moving cafe
