AirPods 3: An Audiophile’s Perspective...

I just bought this piece of shit today sound quality is really really suck worst earbud i had ever owned. Whoever I try bought this please don't I don't worth it

3rd reason to choose 3r gen is its battery life❤

I agree with him about the convertibility. My ears don’t catch any fatigue or soreness from wearing these. They’re also not inside of my ear canal like the pro’s.

I love my airpods gen 3. Connects to any Apple device immediately, comfortable in the ear, light and easy to charge, etc. However snares in music just sound awful. Its like rubbing newspaper into my ear. It may be great for traditional instruments with drums in the background, but with lots of drums and especially snares its a fail... Too bad to say that because otherwise it's a lovely device.

I just purchased the AirPods 3 weeks ago. The spatial audio makes hotel California- hell freeze over sounds awesome

Airpods 2 too bright? The airpods 3 are too bright! Listening to rock music it just annoys me. I don’t get annoyed with the airpod 2s.

I like my Airpods 3. Quite a bit. In fact they are the only in-ear headphones I ctually use. It is still not perfectly comfortable but bearable, and the audio quality is superb.

I like my 3s, I don’t like stuff stuck in my ear and the 3s fit and sound good. I also like I am aware of my surroundings. That’s important to me to be available to my family and for safety also. Costco has been having them for sale for 139 lately. The only other EarPods I had was the first generation and they fell out of my ears all the time. Just didn’t fit, plus since they was longer, easier to hit by accident and they would go flying. The threes are shorter than my earlobes.

Is this good for workouts?

I would choose the 3rd gen over the pros because of the better battery life.

I wear the gen 2 at work all day I once dropped mr right one from a 3 rd floor balcony into a parking lot and it survived after that it’s been love since looking to get the gen 3

I have all three , and personally prefer the sound quality of the AirPod 3.. it’s even better than my 400 dollar Bose headphones.. the clarity and the deeper bass is better than the pros

I actually like the sound better on the AirPods 3. But I such small ear canals I can only wear them for such a short period of time. When the pros came out, I was happy that they came out with the buds, it fits so much better but the sound wasn’t as good as the AirPod 3.

To add, the microphone of airpods 3 is a lot better than that of the pro.

Thanks for an honest review. Would like hear how you feel about the EarPod Pro 2. Good sound with noise cancellation is a must for me. I also use BOSE QuietComfort and Soundcore X10 earbuds. Both of which I feel have better sound, but I prefer the noise cancellation and ease of use that the EarPod Pro has.

I was so underwhelmed by both the 3s and pro 2. I mean sound is subjective but to me my 50 euro chinese earbuds sound better. Also i probably cant go with the 3s the lack of passive noice cancelation is so annoying.

I love my Airpods 3. The fit is great with my big ear holes. I just hate the little rubbery bits of the pro’s pushed into my ears. It just feels awkward.

Sadly the pros made me SICK!! I would get dizzy and nauseous. Outside of that they were great when paired with the iPhone although definitely not audiophile quality.

Audiophiles like videophiles (which I fall into) are a demanding bunch. It's very hard for any common product to ever meet their standards. That being said, the average person will be very happy with these. Good and fair review though, good job, wish most reviews of things were like this.

At 7:03 you say, "the frequency response is very inoffensive." Having studied electrical engineering at bachelors and masters level that statement intrigues me. I tried to imagine an offensive frequency response. This must be audiophile lingo. I'm poking fun affectionately. Help me, please. I want to should I pay more or less to be offended? ;) Yes? More or less.

I have the AirPods Pro’s, but my one and ONLY issue I have with the 3’s is ear wax and the speaker screen cage thingy lol. I still have my Airpod 1’s and I was cleaning those things pretty much every 2 days lol.

See I have AirPods Pro’s, love them but find on my right ear they like to wiggle they don’t fall out but feel like it will if you get what I mean, ANC is great but it’s not desirable but audio quality is the thing for me, is it worth getting the AirPods 3rd Gen?

I am particularly sensitive to sibilance but I find the AirPods 2 to be quite warm and comfortable to listen to. I still enjoy using them but for critical listening I use my Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2’s. The AirPods are still way better everyday earbuds though just because of the comfort, convenience, quick connection, tiny carry case etc etc. they’re just better earphones with worse sound quality.
I also owned AirPods Pro for a couple of months when they first came out and I really hated their sound. They were thin and sharp and hurt my ears, not from the physical design but because of the sharp treble so I ended up selling them and keeping my AirPods 2. So if you’re saying the AirPods 3 are brighter than the 2 then perhaps I won’t like them. Sound guys also said they produce less sub bass than the AirPods 2 so kinda sounds like a downgrade.

I hate silicone style earbuds, but wanted to upgrade from original Airpods. Just bought the 3rd gen and can't wait to try them

What would an audiophile recommend instead or over the Airpods in 2022? i can't seem to find anyone suggesting any alternatives, just reviewing the pros and cons of each Apple Airpod version

Accepting the fact that AirPods Pro hurt my ears after 5 minutes has been hard because convenience and noice cancelling sure are nice, but the pain isn’t worth it. I might have to switch to the 3’s

i sometimes use my mums airpods 2 and usually i think that the sound is coming out of my phones speakers thats how crappy they sound
