I don't remember seeing these as a kid, but I might've been too old for them when they came out. They remind me a little of the Happy Meal toys that changed from robots to McDonald's food items, though. 😄

Now I'm super curious about the origin of these robots. In Brazil, during the early 2000s, they were sold as gifts in a children's magazine called "recreio", which translates as recreation, and were named Letronix. They came in blind packs, and they were very successful. Their success was so great that they were followed by a series of similar robots that assumed the role of numbers, the numerix, and then home appliance robots that combined.

Weird, I recently came across some blind bags of these figures but with less parts, different paint and under a different name.

I recognize the aesthetic, I found a couple beat-up examples of the number set a few years ago, I have the 8 sitting on my shelf, with its scuffed up Mcdonalds color scheme of red and white with yellow accents

I remember my childhood watching this video. I have it also and remember only letter I, V, H not a complete alphabet but this toy is one of my favorite to take care of it. Time so fast , now my age 41 and happy to see the alphabet robot again. 😢 it hit a flash back that thinking I love my childhood so much..

My younger brother has these, and he doesn’t really know that these transform into robots, he just keeps them in the letter forms. Same thing with the other transformers things. He just keeps them in vehicle mode. I feel like if he actually saw a transformer series, he might appreciate the robot modes.

Those things are OLD. We had them back in the 80s as freebies from tubes of toothpaste. But they're fun and clever.
