The guards is a combat regiment. They serve in foreign conflicts and everything, and they have a terrifying reputation on the battlefield. If they don’t kill you with their bullets they will fix a bayonet and stab it through you heart ten times

First of all, shouting "Sherlock" is racist? What? To whom? To which race?
Secondly, you REALLY shouldn't have to look up "customs and cultures" to know that it's not acceptable to stand in front of someone and shout and mock them. Even they're not a guard - would it be ok to do this to a teacher? A McDonalds worker? - there's a massive level of disrespect and entitlement there.
And as someone mentioned below, these aren't just people in the military - they're elite military - it's a position of pride to be able to do be a royal guard. I dare say if he had his other uniform on (camouflage and face grease) they wouldn't have shouted at him like that.

Full video with one clip today, its king guards doing there job the girls were rude
@68lyn68They are combat soldiers. The guards regiments fight all over the world, some don’t come back.
@spursgog835These guards are serving military, they have fought for their country they are not there to be made fun of .
@favourites690the real antihero in this video is the teacher (if he is, he migh be a tour guide, at least i hope...)
@sparayurjiRead the "room" and respect others, then you are alright!
@SpekerodThat was at Horse Guards, and the Troopers are from a highly trained regiment called the Household Cavalry. They are a mounted regiment, but there is also the armoured side (i.e. Ajax tanks). You have the Life Guard regiment (in red with white plume) and the Blues and Royals regiment (in blue with a red plume). The horses you were talking about are a few feet away from where the girls were being told off, you walk outside of the courtyard and they are there.
You should find some videos for a horse called Ormande. Before they put a box around the horses to stop tourists getting too close, Ormande was famous for biting people. Not all the horses bite, some are really gentle, but you have your characters there.
The police are MOD Police.
He did volunteer, all our servicemen volunteer, be it army. Navy or air force. he is merely standing guard at Horseguards parade. the same place you will see them on horses at the street gate. This is a barracks and through the arches at the rear is where the King or Queens birthday parade is held and the trooping of the colour. Nobody calls them "The Kings Guard" only tourists, there is no such regiment. There are numerous Guards regiments in the army, you can distinguish which regiment is which by the positioning of the buttons on the tunic.sets of two, three four etc. All of these soldiers are fighting men and have battle honours that go way back up to present including, the falklands war, bosnia, afghanistan and Iraq. They are not the special services, our equivalent is the SAS made of members from all services who have survived the training course. When I was in the forces you had to be over 6 ft tall to be a guard, not sure about now. As said, these are fighting soldiers as are the guards at the tomb of the unknown soldier in America.
As you said mate, take photo's by all means but show respect for Any soldier standing his sentry duty in any country.
They are serving soldiers. Some of the regiments take turns wearing fancy uniforms and guarding one of the royal palaces and castles. The rest of the time they are regulars and could be posted all over
@LeighBoothbyAt the end of the day it’s just about having a little respect for others! That’s not a cultural thing it’s a human thing!
@colinstevens2691HBKSHOW1. This video will explain how the Kings Guards are selected.

Video Title. How to Become a Royal Guard. Full Step by Step
The horses that stand outside Buckingham Palace are on duty for 1 hour at a time.
@timglennon6814These are soldiers that also go into combat so they deserve respect
@DeniseOakley-v9eWhere the guard is is also where the horse guards are and they protect the crown
@DeniseOakley-v9eTheyre a very 'iconic British' thing so I get why tourists want to see them ,take pics etc but they still need to be some level of respect - they are people too, not just props
@iCBA2025For my own I don't understand fully what the guard is protecting by staying still ... In which occasion, about protecting buildings, he could act ?
@WiR-64What americans dont understand....THIS IS NOT DISNEY WORLD,,these soldiers are elite soldiers guarding ..Step back and show respect, period
@hansostrop6272The Kings Guards are highly trained personel, they have to stand for hours in a day, without reaction to anything but a viable threat to the Crown (the King), but it is still a highly sought after position, because it honours hundreds of years of British tradition.
@jocey42the question is ... would you insult a soldier in your own country ? the answer should be no and therefore dont do it in another persons country
@corruptworld1431TBF it's not just Americans that get told off for messing with these guards.
I prefer this nice moment videos with them. Little kids dressed up, disabled people petting their horses etc.
HBK it's got nothing to do with research, it's a matter of self entitlement. disrespecting traditions and custom's because they think they are superior to the rest of the world and can do and say what they want. it's people like this that gives your country a bad name for traveling anywhere in the world. what would they do if we went up to US military and started shouting "Forest Gump" at them taking the piss? express that they have the best military in the world. yeah can't even end a war in the middle East that they started. just like Russia "be a couple of weeks and we will win" 4 years later Ukraine is kicking their butt. same with the US now needing Ukrainian drone technology because they are loosing the Iranian war. 🫡🇬🇧🫡
@m.dale84RUDE AMERICAN'S YET AGAIN TREATING THE WORLD LIKE THEY OWN IT AND EVERYTHING IS THEIR PLAY TOY. THEY WOULDN'T BE DOING THAT IF THEY KNEW THAT THESE GUARD'S ARE ELITE SOLDIERS AND NOT JUST SOMEONE THATS STANDING FOR NO REASON. THEY ARE PROTECTING THE ROYAL FAMILY. IT YOU HAVE DISRESPECT FOR OYR MILITARY THEN YOU SHOULDN'T BE ALOUD NEAR THEM. 🫡🇬🇧🫡
@m.dale84These are serving soldiers, many of whom will have seen action in some of the most dangerous conflicts around the world! And sometime they are not even British! You will have soldiers from other countries where the King is also the sovereign such as Canada, Australia or New Zealand or even Irish citizens who because of the long history between Ireland and the UK are allowed to serve in the UK forces, most often in the Irish Guards.
@dooley-chIt's probably a combination. They were seriously rude. They have that in them, or you would not be making fun of someone at all, even if they were just playing a part to demonstrate an old-timey custom. It doesn't matter if they're volunteers and it doesn't matter if it's cosplay, the way they were acting was still very rude and inexcusable.
But yes, on top of that it's also not unlikely they didn't know these are in fact just soldiers on the clock.
You guys wear the Same clothes six days in a row? Must be very stinky. 😉
@aklcncxIf you watch carefully they are school girls and their teacher was encouraging them! He is standing at the back and suggested calling the guard "Sherlock"!
@b3564They are all working soldiers.. Protecting..
@jay80ssThis is not Disney land some of these men have killed people in combat
@1234chappoThese are real top of the elite soldiers guarding the Royal properties and the occupants, this is part of their job they are not volunteers. Or a special unit, next week they could be fighting a war somewhere. They are not allowed to have any interaction with the public. Even if they were not there would be no excuse to stand, try a goad or take the pee out of them.
There are also soldiers mounted on horseback who guard these buildings and they have a squares painted on the ground around the horses and guard, tourists are not allowed to enter the square or touch the horse, but the number of people who just ignore the signs pointing this out.
You will notice the police were armed these are some the few places you will see armed police in the UK, yes armed police is a special branch of the police as the UK police do not normally carry guns.
Imagine Brits going to visit somewhere like The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where there's military soldiers guarding the tomb 24/7. How disrespectful would it be, for those annoying Brits. To stand there and make fun of the military personel, guarding The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Most Americans would be enraged at that kind of disrespect, being shown to those standing watch over the tomb. The ceremonial guards in their red uniforms in the UK, are real military personel. They're not actors playing a role, they have to stand still for hours at a time, often in very hot conditions due to the heavy red uniforms they have to wear. The last thing they need is a group of morons disrespecting them for no reason. If they can't keep a civil tongue in their heads, and be content with taking a photo, then don't visit these places. There are lots of other sights to see in London, without being annoying belligerent fools.
@rickb3645The world is not a playground!
@Sclero80I used to work with one man who was in a guards regiment. Sometimes he performed similar things like this, he was also deployed and fought in Iraq.
@robertlonsdale5326This is one of the few times that you'll see armed police. All firearms are handed back at the end of the shift. Although the soldier may look silly to some they are fully trained and when not on ceremonial duty the are combat ready soldiers and many have fought in war.
@robertlonsdale5326You are thinking of the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace
@DUNFERMLINEBOY1They transferred from regular military regiments into the King's Guard 💂♂️. They must be selected and meet eligibility requirements, they undergo additional training. They still go on active duty worldwide as well as guard the royal estate.
@tinap8227If the guards break they face being sacked. They have to keep a straight face and stay unreactive to public interactions so when they’re getting abuse and taunted it might be funny to tourists but you could cost them their career.
@joeypriestman6783these guys are elite soldiers
@Lama72866i see you have joined the Ai-slop thumbnail generator club 😔 lol , you may enjoy reacting to some "police interceptors" videos , there are loads of full length ones out there that are somewhat new (2020+) 👍👍 or some more Cunk! :)
@SnowflakeMelter-v1.12There the best soilder garding the king is very well paid 👏 and thay have served in real combat meny times
@edwardwindsor8246These guys will soon take off the gaurds uniform and will be in combats clothing.
They should be respected
