Video Overview & Insights

isn't vestibulocochlear nerve purely sensory?

— @grimmpanda6000

Ninja Nerds!

In this lecture, Professor Zach Murphy uses a detailed dissectible anatomical brain model to explore the intricate structures of the central nervous system. This interactive presentation allows you to visualize the brain in whole and sectional views, highlighting key external landmarks and internal anatomy.

— @cherrypetales

We identify the major brain divisions, including the cerebrum, cerebellum, and brainstem, before breaking them down into lobes, cortical regions, and functional areas. Zach then dissects the model to reveal deep structures such as the thalamus, hypothalamus, basal nuclei, and ventricular system, providing spatial context for how these regions relate.

As we progress, we examine important fiber tracts, cranial nerve origins, and vascular supply routes, emphasizing their relevance to neuroanatomy and clinical correlations. This hands-on approach makes understanding the 3D relationships between brain structures easier, helping bridge the gap between textbook diagrams and real-life anatomy.

Just a suggestion. You need a better brain model; perhaps even color coded. It won't be as realistic, but I believe it would be a better teaching tool.

It’s funny when the pineal gland is mentioned all that’s ever talked about is that it’s responsible for melatonin when it does so much more, if it’s not calcified and your genetics match the sun.

Thank you for mentioning proprioception, I was literally wondering about whether that was in the somatosensory cortex or not just yesterday. (Some people might expect that it's obvious, but I don't like making assumptions about the brain.)

Tried to get in med school in India.
Couldn't get government college and my ego prevented me to opt for expensive private colleges.
Now watching these videos are like a guilty pleasure as if i am in a medical College lecture room.
Amazing videos.....

yeah i got a hundred on my brain quiz...okay i memorized ALL the parts,,, and this is whats happening. the brain is being afflicted down to "the pea" and mindcontrolled the living hell out of by EMR!..okay? and of course i CAN go into more depth, which should NOT be necessary but i can do that
