and 17 Steps To Writing A Great Main Character - https://payhip.com/b/kCZGd

In this Film Courage interview, Brad Rushing talks about life, cinema, and finding film work in Los Angeles.

Do the work, take that step because you want to, not cause someone wants you to

— @amay121

Brad Rushing began working with Roger Corman's Concorde/New Horizons film studio which afforded him some of his first feature film opportunities as Director of Photography where he learned valuable skills.

After a number of years concentrating on indie feature films Brad began to shoot high end music videos photographing award-winning, iconic clips for artists like Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, Lionel Richie, Nelly and Eminem. Brad's ground-breaking work on Moby's "We Are All Made Of Stars" won an MTV Video Music Award "Moonman" for Best Cinematography in a Video, and many of the other music videos he shot have won awards such as VMAs, MVPAs and Grammys for Best Video. Brad also won a Canadian Society of Cinematographers Award for Best Cinematography in a Video for the Alsou video "Always On My Mind."

Brad's most recent work is the feature film "A California Christmas" which filmed in Petaluma, CA in July 2020, one of the first film productions to start under stringent COVID-19 safety protocols. The film debuted on a major streaming platform for the 2020 holiday season and was number one on Netflix for one week straight.

The most useful thing Brad says here is almost a throwaway: early in his career, frustrated and not believing in himself, he realized he didn't need to believe in himself — he just had to do the steps he'd committed to and let them carry him through the low stretch. That's gold for anyone stuck in a discouragement spiral, because it takes self-belief off the table as a precondition for doing the work.

What's interesting is that this quietly contradicts the book he's recommending. Erica Wernick's Meant For This is built on the opposite premise — believe your success is inevitable, step into your "Star Power," expect the Universe to deliver. Belief first, action second. Brad found the reverse worked for him: action first, and the belief is optional.

Like if you preyed on women and shes not into you then the response is blackball her for telling. Just an example. Not ABOUT him , it's about it can be orchestrated. But it's orchestrated by multi knowledgeable people who do research aka the regular people for free or pennies on the dollar to tell the rich orchestraters how to land it all. Sure sometimes even that fails but it's the more time than not. Not excuses for failure either it's called reality. Perceptions from white men will be vastly different to women and other minority groups. Talk people who really fought their way into jobs? Don't look at white men. Door was always open.

Stuff we use:

What BS people and Artists do need to believe in themselves because thought creates reality. Therefore, if you don't believe in yourself, you won't create success.

CAMERA - This is the camera we have used to film 90+% of our interviews (over 200 interviews and counting) It continues to be our workhorse - http://amzn.to/2u66V1J

LENS - Most people ask us what camera we use, no one ever asks about the lens which filmmakers always tell us is more important. This lens was a big investment for us and one we wish we could have made sooner. Started using this lens at the end of 2013 - http://amzn.to/2tbtmOq

❤I fully agree. This happens. Unless getting connected or hinted to meet someone that changes everything, where one can menifest and generate something of value for both ends. Nothing moves till then if that is not there. Its a bisiness of relationship.

Relating to people as a human...funny, this seems to be my approach. I just needed reassurance that it was a good approach 😊

Just do it. The more you do the more you become . It’s just like Art itself with layers of paint on the canvas. The more layers the more beautiful it becomes. So keep creating.Build up inside to bring it to the World outside.

Save your time. Artist admits Hollywood is nothing but nepotism and incest by kissing each other's rear ends. Has nothing to do with originality or talent or a good story, because if it is any of those things, Hollywood chews you up and spits you out.
