My sister and I loved this video when we saw it on MTV back in the day, and this song remains my favorite from ASIA. Reading up a little, I see that the band didn't really care for this song so much and honestly, John's face throughout the video looks like he would rather be doing anything else than making this video. At the time, Raiders of the Lost Ark style music videos were generally well received. This one was a little different with how it killed off the band one-by-one. That different approach gave it more of a draw to me, at least, because I genuinely felt bad for them. I was 6 or 7 at the time, so it probably hit me differently from older viewers, but I did understand it was just a video. It just had some pathos to it for me.

I love this song even though something bad happened to me in my vehicle in 1983 while this song was playing on the radio. It was a coming of age moment.

Every summer I would be picked up by my Aunt and Uncle to stay with them for two weeks. I remember playing the cassette of this album non stop for the four hour drive to their home. I was happy to have been able to afford the cassette.

In the backseat I would play it when driven to the grocery store and every other trip. When I became a singer I prided myself of sounding like the lead singer, so I was told.

All these decades later, this album is beloved. What ASIA could have done if the lead singer was in control of his alcoholism, we will never know. I am all the more appreciative that we got their best right here.
