Thank you, helpful video. I have both the BOA custom and unlimited cash rewards cards and I love em. They are straightforward with solid terms, I don’t want a lot of bells and whistles just good credit limits, low interest rates and rewards that broadly apply so I don’t have to go out of my way to identify which card to use for which purchase - BoA has mastered the fundamentals as far as I’m concerned.

I must admit, I was never a BOA fan until I started w/the Custom Cash 0% interest in 2023. I consistently receive 0% Balance Transfer offers which I use to consolidate! Currently 0% going into 9/2026 - Yassss! I may get another...

@jamesprince6367I've had the customized cash and no af travel card customer service with BofA is not the best but if you get the top tier status from have 100k in assets they're a great simple 1 or 2 card setup for people that don't want to have a lot of cards from different card issuers. Only thing I really disliked about bank of America was their not great customer service and if you ever made a manual payment with auto pay setup it would still pay your full statement balance regardless if you made a manual payment on top of it.
@keny46Can you make a credit card payment at the bank using cash? It’s telling me on the Bank of America app that I have to have a Bank of America checking account to make a payment
@adamf-p2uNo foreign transaction fee benefit may be inherited after product change, e.g. from Travel Rewards to Unlimited Cash Rewards/Customized Cash Rewards to earn cash back globally.
@farleylai1102The Customized Cash Rewards categories are extremely impressive when you look at the full breakdown. Online purchases is obviously the winner. Travel covers basically anything involving travel, whereas many others like the Citi Custom Cash restrict it to hotels, air, and car rentals. Short of travel protections, I would take this card over most domestic portal or transfer partner redemptions. The Home Improvement category is the real sleeper if you're a homeowner - it covers basically everything you could do on your home short of taxes & insurance. HVAC and pest services, electrical and plumbing and other contractors, plus the obvious Home Depot & Harbor Freight purchases. Without preferred rewards it is worth it just for the online and home improvement categories, with platinum honors it is unmatched in almost all categories (Citi Custom Cash and Rewards+ combo will get 5.5% in some) and is the best card you can use at Costco short of US Bank's 4% when it releases. Plus you can always buy costco giftcards online for 3-5.25% for some extra gains.
@sneedsfinancialNever thought about this group of cards. I like the 2% at wholesale clubs esp since I shop at BJs or Costco all the time. I usually take advantage of the 5% cash back when Discover offers that’s at these clubs.

The Bank of America cards definitely are underrated. Two of my favorite Bank of America cards are the Customized Cash Rewards card and the Unlimited Cash Rewards cards. Eventually, I would like to get both of them. The Customized Cash card is the one I want to get first, but I'm not really in a hurry to get it right now. Earlier this year, I opened a checking account with BofA, with the hopes that I could join their Preferred Rewards program since I have my 401k plan with Merrill Lynch. However, when I was trying to enroll in Preferred Rewards, I was told that my 401k account does not qualify me for Preferred Rewards. I would have to have an IRA with Merrill to join Preferred Rewards.
@johnmckinstry6057Great review Matt, Bank of America has some solid cards but just a little undervalued compared to other mainstream ones. I don't carry any but could see myself grabbing the customized rewards card.
@mypiratekingFor BOA, the no FTF benefit can be transferred. Product change the travel rewards card to a customized cash rewards card and you keep the no FTF benefit.
