BANK OF AMERICA TRAVEL REWARDS CREDIT CARD BENEFITS

great video, i just got this card. I wanted the intro rate offer + some mild travel benefits. There''s not a lot of hybrid cards like this, that im aware of.. the other being Cap One VentureOne Rewards. So if you have those needs, in addition to the ones mentioned in this video Mark, then this card is pretty good (I'm a BOA customer as well).

— @aeromotive2

- Chip + PIN : Added layer of security for compatible payment terminals

- Contactless Chip Technology

This is an awesome video

— @rancesmith5683

- No Foreign Transaction Fees

INSURANCE & PROTECTIONS

You make the most helpful and straight forward videos with the right information and without making me WAIT! Thank you!

— @irock550

- Rental car insurance (secondary)

- Roadside dispatch

It has been still a bit difficult to follow. I suppose because it is assumed the knowledge of certain programmes of BofA

— @HaroldEsc

- Extended warranty protection

- Travel/emergency assistance services

"I'll give you a hint, that's this one." That had me rolling Lol

— @smurkio_otf

NOTE: NOTE: Above protections may not be accurate. Very little information is available online, though the card is a Visa Signature Card.

GOOD TO KNOW

Do I actually need to travel in order to get the $250?

— @MonarchsOfBrotherhood

- No limit to how many points you can earn

- No blackout dates

Can I use this card for in store shopping domestically too?
And other than booking related to travels, can I use it for merchandise shopping an overseas with no transaction fee?
Thank you

— @Christine-xs2of

- Points do not expire as long as your account is open and in good standing

- Bank of America tends to be a relationship bank, meaning your chances of approval will likely be higher if you have a banking relationship with them.

Awesome just got the card.

— @dwighttaylor5107

SHOULD YOU GET IT?

YES if you…

Hello which card do you recommend for points on paying regular bills and shopping? I have this card and I thought I was getting credit for that but now I realize it’s only for restaurants 🤦🏻‍♂️

— @mybetterfilms

- Are within your 1st year of building credit (consider as 2nd or 3rd card)

- Prefer travel rewards over cash back

this card should at least earn 3x on travel purchases outside the portal. The BOA customized cash card does

— @TheAudioCzar

- Travel 1-2 times per year, domestically

- Want simple rewards

other than getting that initial bonus, is there a minimum I need to spend with this card to avoid fees? i want to have a no FTF card for when I travel

— @youngsuit

- Are a Platinum or Platinum Honors member in the Bank of America Preferred Rewards program

NO if you…

Interested to hear your thoughts on this card at the Platinum Honors level vs the US Bank Altitude Connect card…. Mostly redeem for domestic airfare and lodging.

— @lhattend

- Are beyond your 1st year of credit

- Travel moderately to frequently, domestic / international

thanks

— @Lglayman

- Want high point earning rates

- Desire high-value travel rewards

How do you redeem for dining? And can it be local dining i.e. with no travel involved?

— @sudhisira

- Want strong travel insurance / protections

- Want travel perks / benefits

Hello, do you know any credit card that provides tickets reimbursement if you don’t use it? Let’s say I missed my flight or I am unable to show up for my flight, do you know any credit card that will give me a reimbursement on that situation?

— @AlejandroGonzalez-ro5tk

- Are Gold member in the Preferred Rewards program (or if you don’t have Preferred Rewards)

- Prefer cash back rewards over travel

Recommend credit score for this

— @matthenry4593

HOW IT COMPARES

If you value travel / dining redemptions, then it makes sense to get this card over standard 2% cash back credit cards if you are a Platinum or Platinum Honors member in the Bank of America Preferred Rewards program. If you’re at the Gold tier (or aren’t in the Preferred Rewards program), then it makes more sense to get a 2% cash back credit card for the higher return and greater flexibility in using your cash back.

Mark - a very good debate would be a quick, 3-4 min comparison between this card and the new BoA Unlimited Cash Back card. They're similar but different. I've been thinking of doing a product change to that one from the TR Card given that only dining / travel can be redeemed for rewards with this one, but of course, this card has no foreign transaction fee. Any thoughts?

— @sjg6158

2% CASH BACK CREDIT CARDS TO CONSIDER

- Citi Double Cash credit card

how do I redeem the points from BofA account to Delta airline or Hilton Hotels for example. Nobody of you credit cards people on Youtube shows who does it works. 😒

— @konradlentschig

- PayPal CashBack Mastercard

- Fidelity Rewards Visa Signature Card

What is rental car secondary exactly?

— @LaytonEstates

- SoFi Credit Card

- TD Double Up Card

Mark, as I've noted before, this card is very underrated in particular, of you're part of preferred rewards (as you've said). The no fee on foreign transactions is also great for a no fee card. The recent ability to redeem for dining is also a nice perk too and boosts the card value. One thing that I don't understand is what's the difference between redeeming for travel/dining or for cash? The former just gives you a statement credit essentially against those past and current purchases. The cash redemption just puts money back in your account. There's no difference and thus, NEVER redeem for cash as it is. Agreed? It's great to just click off my expenses on here and the points do add up to make $25 credits and higher.

OTHER TRAVEL CREDIT CARDS TO CONSIDER

— @geobori

- Chase Sapphire Preferred

- Chase Sapphire Reserve

BUT IS IT THE BEST CREDIT CARD IF YOU TRAVEL INTERNATIONALLY FEW TIMES PER YEAR, AND IF YOU WANT NO ANNUAL FEE AND YOU NEED NO FOREIGN FEES OR YOU NEED TO STAY OUTSIDE OF US A LONG TIME AND SO USING IT CONSTANTLY AND TRAVEL DOMESTICALLY (IN EUROPE THO) OR IS THERE A BETTER ONE WITHOUT ANNUAL FEES AND WITH NO FOREIGN TRANSACTION? THANKS! I JUST GOT APPROVED FOR 3000$ ITS MY 3RD YEAR OF CREDIT HISTORY BUT NOW IT GOT BACK TO 1.5 YEAR BECAUSE I GOT THIS NEW CARD. THANKS!

— @iamkevindchan

- Chase Freedom Unlimited

- Chase Freedom Flex

Did you look into the travel center for the Bank of America card? You could get up to 3x the points

— @teddyogilvie7538

- Citi Premier Card

- Citi Prestige Card

I have this card. wondering how long it takes to receive points after making purchases?

— @DammnnSkippy

- Amex Platinum Card

- Amex Gold Card

if I availed the BOA Alaska airlines visa on the 1st year, can I downgrade it to this card (BOA travel rewards card)?

— @msaylorBTC100M

- Capital One Venture card

Bank of America truly SUCKS with all there products and services. Bank of America is nothing but heartache. Bank of America is a control freak!

— @jjaguar89

- Wells Fargo Propel American Express Card

- US Bank Altitude Reserve

I was actually thinking about getting this card next, but probably won't anymore because of how customer service works. On literally almost all other banks on their website or app, like Chase, AMEX, and even my small local credit union, you can send a secure message but you seemingly can't with BOA. Was trying to contact them about why am I being still charged a service fee when I have the minimums in my savings and they keep telling me to call, but I'm unable to call. I'm not trying to have my hair pulled out from trying to contact customer service if needed.

Hey Mark - was thinking.. have you done a video on DepartmentStore with major credit cards NOT Department store cards? Because I think if it's a major card like (Citi, AMEX, Chase, etc..) it would be more ideal vs having a huge stack of cards in the wallet.. thoughts?

Honestly I don’t think there’s another card for me that fits as a backup to amex abroad. No fees, and it’s a visa. It also won’t dilute my amex spend too much since it won’t be a primary card. So I can still focus my point worsening on the amex.
