BATTING 2nd..BREGMAN Or WHO | Cubs Baseball Channel

That's what happens when you have a manager with no fear for his job. He keeps doubling down on Bregman. The only reason they won was due to errors. Removing Assad was BS. He would have gotten that last out anyway. Cubs will never win with Counsell

This Episode:

I agree with moving Bregman. We've seen it once or twice where they walk PCA with m3n on and 2 outs to get to the easy out. If PCA stays going like this and Bregman doesn't figure it out, it will happen even more. I also think the Cardinals where intentionally hitting PCA. Because they couldn't get him out all weekend. He either got a hit or walk virtually all weekend. I understand pitching inside, but it felt more like a throw at him and if he got our of the way great, but if he didn't then so be it kind of situation. The6 just didn't want to pitch to him, and ratger hit him then give him another walk.

- Alex Bregman Batting 2nd?

- Cubs Win! Beat St. Louis 6-4 at Wrigley Field

Can’t stand taking out starters early!! Stupid!

— @tracykharp

- Shelby Miller in 2026???

- 2025 1st round pick Ethan Conrad hit his first home run

We gotta have our starters school more innings and I think that’s an inherent fall with our manager. Pulling the plug on our pictures way too early. I was starting pictures. There’s really no reason to pictures can’t pitch 5 or six or seven innings. This pinch count thing is getting way out of line here picture was taken out after 90 some pitches and he had a perfect game going through seven. What the hell and put Nico in their number two spot in the batting order OK those are my two opinions on that. and I’ll see this again. It’s a starting pitching doesn’t get better believers don’t get better that comes with not being impulse season and currently right now we don’t have the horses to do that in the next two months I believe are going to show that I don’t wanna be Johnny Rain called Mr. Goman doom but I’m looking out to reality of the situation and we’re in the situation because of injuries.

Bregman is overrated. Move him down and Hoerner up to 2nd. My if-I-were-mamager lineup would be PCA, Hoerner, Bush, Susuki, Happ, Bregman, Conforto/Shaw, Kelly, Swanson. I know Shaw is on the IL right now. I also hated that Asaad came out of the game so soon.

Craig is an idiot! And trade bregman for a younger stronger player!

Another thing is pitchers can’t pitch 3 times vs lineups. Let pitchers figure it out

Great post. I had the same feeling about Assad. What were you thinking? In the end the final call is on the manager and I would like to see him gone already! Mick we are old school and I'm telling you if there are no changes this whole thing is going to be the same old same old for three more years and then the window will be closed for another world series. I have seen this movie over and over and I do not want us to have to wait another hundred years to win a title!

Justin Dean has also done well in spot duty. More ABs?

@knowledgeuntamed9177
@

How many ABs has Busch got in the 2 hole because he was good there last year? Bregman I think you want more at 4 after a few days off. Happ, if he's playing I always like the switch hit power in the 2 hole. Johnathan Long lol. Can't say it enough. No how about Carson Kelly and Amaya? Rameriez should get some 3B reps with Bregman struggling and Bregman days off, but I wouldn't hit him 2nd. You gotta spark some guys tho so, Busch I think is the way I would go. Especially vs RH. Vs LH Carson Kelly and Amaya are the best options. Conforno is Playing ok but, I don't know that he's the answer there.

I hate antalynics I can't even spell it right. LOL When Bregman got that hit is shocked the hell out of me.

@Kunze_Marketing
@

Batting second I would put Busch or Happ in the second slot.

@Kunze_Marketing
@

I’d rather keep Bregman in the 2 spot so the middle & back end of the order can have more flow & put more men on for Dansby & PCA. His OBP is still decent & he gets hits so keep him in the 2 spot

Don’t forget about Ben Brown in Milwaukee two years ago. Had a no hitter thru 7 and Counsell pulled him. Could you imagine what a no hitter could’ve done for his confidence back then? We could have seen his break out two years earlier.

@devinshaffer3105
@

They definitely need to win the next 2 series before the break. Cubs need to remember this series and stick it crap birds !!

@Stufftowatch21

Alcantara or Bateman as a bench player? Shaw or Bregman at 3rd.

Still hoping Bregman turns this around in the second half. He definitely needs the time off. Hope it helps.

@Realdude73
@

I don't care for analytics. Baseball was played for over 100 years without analytics, and the game was just fine. Nico should hit second, Bregman should hit seventh until he proves he should hit higher in the lineup.

@Hunter-R-Hickey
@

Are you analyzing anything at all? Happ has like 119 strike outs. He is hitting .220. He strikes out looking. Today he took a 1-1 pitch. A strike on the inside corner. Perfect pitch to swing at. He is now 1-2. He swings at a pitch in the dirt to whiff. He is on pace to strike out 224 times this year which will almost triple his projected walks. He is someone who ONLY looks to walk. Bregman is the exact same idiot. He can't do anything. The reason that Happ, Bregman, Suzuki suck? They always find themselves in a 0-2 count or a 1-2 count. Bregman has on multiple occasion this year struck out looking, then he taps his helmet. Confirmed. It was a strike. If your big 3 RBI guys are ONLY looking to walk and begging for it? There will be no changes. They will leave men on base. Did you see that Happ and Bregman are both hitting about .175 with runners in scoring position? Peacock showed the graphic. WHY IS THAT? It is because they are always taking strikes. Either on the corners or down the middle. When you are down 0-2 with runners on 2nd and 3rd and 1 out? The pitcher (unlike the moronic Cubs staff who groove strikes when ahead 0-2 or 1-2) will throw crap in the dirt, and like today, Happ swings at it and strikes out. They simply have to swing early at strikes. Did you see Ramirez today? He comes in cold off the bench and pinch hits for Kevin. FIRST PITCH SWINGING on a fast ball down the middle. He hits a rocket to RF and gets a SAC. As you are supposed to do in this situation. Runner at 3rd and less than 2 outs. AT MINIMUM, you MUST get grass. Ramirez does exactly that. Drives in a run, the throw from RF gets away from the 3B and Swanson also scores as he was also tagging up from 2nd base. You swing at strikes. Early in the count. You put the ball in play. Ramirez is like 22 and he knows what to do. Happ and Bregman do not, as they are obsessed with trying to get a walk. After the all star game, Craig should do what Joe did and bench Happ. Heyward was a gold glove guy who could not hit. Happ is the same. And by the way, get Amaya one game a week to start. He is not good. PCA (CF) Nico (2B) Suzuki (RF) Swanson (SS), Busch (1B), Kelly (C), Ramirez (3B), Conforto (DH) Shaw (LF).

@johnlenon8872
@

Nico has to hit 2nd again, but now he’s behind Pete. Let Busch Happ and Seiya clean up and put Bregman in the 6 spot which may reinforce the bottom part of the lineup

@TheAttack88
@

Good show Mick. Hoerner seems to be turning things around. Perhaps he could fit in the two spot. He has the speed and can probably move PCA along. If you want a longshot to hit second, how about Pedro Ramirez?

@KevinCarpenterKucera-s9l

The Cubs were successful with Busch or Horner batting 2nd in the past..
