Hence the correct translation is "fear-inspiring" place. - Awe meaning: Awe is an emotion combining reverential respect, wonder, and often a touch of fear or dread. It is typically triggered by something vast, powerful, or sublime—such as a massive thunderstorm, a grand monument, or the sheer scale of the universe.

Not “Lord”. But “Jehovah”

Please use the correct Bible translation. Especially in these very important verses where the unique name of God is mentioned.

I had my doubt.. or still do, perhaps I’ve misread the text but I never understood how Jacob traveled from Beersheba to bethel from morning to nightfall..if I’m not mistaken it is around a 75 mile walk and only a camel at best could cover 40 miles a day 🤔 so is this really bethel?

It's so difficult to imagine, as an American, to have historical artifacts from the Bronze Age simply lying around in your backyard like junk. But I've been to Israel and Egypt and it's not that uncommon. I remember walking through the amazing Roman ruins of Beit She'an in Israel and saying to my daughter, "We're standing on floor mosaics and streets that were brought to ruin by a huge earthquake in 749. See all those huge pillars knocked down? That's when it happened. and we get to sit on them and take pictures." It was surreal. But to the people who lived there, it was nothing special. There are pottery shards all over the place. just lying in the dirt! And here you are, Joel, standing where Jacob saw the angels ascending and descending the ladder to heaven, and conversing with Jesus, ...a truly awesome place! But nobody knows about it or visits. It's just another pile of stones in someone's back yard, in a country filled with piles of stones, and dirt, and scrubby little bushes. Not much to get excited about. Jericho was much the same. Grubby, dusty, and run down, lots of garbage. And important archeological ruins of the Walls of Jericho- the oldest city in the world, right out there in the open for anyone to climb around on. It's baffling!

Archeology is amazing! It must have been awesome to pick up bits of history at your feet!
