I think what is really the thing that makes Lalo unnerving is that he wears his mask very well, but it is intentionally crooked. He will stare unblinking for a while, then just start acting normal where he is blinking a normal amount. He talks normally, then says something off the cuff heavy as a subject. He plays into being a charismatic uncle type, yet he never stops looking around to find any problem he can find. I'd say its the best representation of a predator I've seen on television

Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Lalo is the most intelligent and charistimatic member of the Salamanca but at the same time he is also very socially inept, though this may sound contradictory. We feel his charm as a viewer but in the BB universe, almost no one not related to his southern "family" likes or trust this person. From the very small characters like Fred Whalen, where Mike was able to extract info peacefully but Lalo had to use force; to all the other major characters - kim, saul, nacho etc. With all his wit, the best and only method he uses to work or lead others seems to be just - money ......
