Debt may not be a sin but it might not be make good sense. The scripture reminds us to owe no man anything. Keep in mind this all comes down to financial literacy. Please note if you had no financial literacy from grades 1-12 you are now 13 years behind, parents, grandparents and great grandparents no financial literacy now your 4 generations behind. No shade here’ or sarcasm or name calling but debt cannot be managed it must be be eliminated by the choices we make when it comes to spending .Just one more thing and please give it some thought,if you have a mortgage and your church has a mortgage you are now paying off 2 mortgages and possibly giving away generational wealth

The spiritual weight and obligation of debt
I started learning about debt, savings, retirement, and money management with my children. When my children were young, we would watch the Suzie Orman show on Saturday nights. We would talk about the topics she covered and have frequent discussions about money management and debt. I added my children to my credit cards at a young age, and now, they have good credits. Two years after graduating from nursing school, my daughter applied for her first credit card on her own, and she was shocked when she got approved. Shortly afterwards, the company increased her credit limit. She now qualifies for credit cards that my husband and I couldn’t get when we were her age. My children are very much aware of debt and not to carry it.
