As a boxer fanatic the only real con is they only live to 11 or 12 years. That being said my last one through love, care, being attentive and regular vet visits, I was blessed to get 17 years out of that sweet animal.

Pros:
I have had four Boxers. All rescues from Boxer Luv Rescue. Starting in 2011. Two have passed. One in 2019 and the second in 2024. The other two are going strong. One is nine this year and one will be 7. They are quite literally the best breed for families. Loyal companions. Funny as all get out. They are family.

Junebug the boxer lived to 14 and for years was walked often using a mountain bicycle. We did it with a 35 foot
Parachute cord (Tee handled) but also no leash later on. With a mountain bicycle aiding me pulling on the leash ended
minute one 99.9% of our hour-long walks we took every day and she always led. LED headlights also aided us as did
gloves and a rear-view mirror for lookout. My one X-ray was negative, and she only pulled me down at slow speeds.
1.23 Learn Quickly
1.57 Easy to Groom
My boxers don't drewl. Don't let them be around when you eat. Do not give them anything when they ask for it. Boxers are the best. My Boxer loves my family and makes a lot of friends.
Cons:
2.39 Sensitive to Weather
We loved our boxer she was so sweet and gentle. Very smart easy to train. She left us too soon. I donât understand why dogs donât live long when a turtle and parrot can live almost 100 years. 10 years was not enough. Havenât been able to get another dog since. We miss her.
3.13 Very Energetic
3.46 Drool a Lot
My boxer never drool?
4.22 Short Lifespan
5.02 Outro
A boxer will change your life. The need , and deserve, quality time. And they reward you with pure joy.

Never considered any cons when I got my 5 boxers over the years!
@svilla995Boxer cons: Too short of a lifespan. Way too short.
Boxer pros: EVERYTHING ELSE
Best dogs ever. Weâve had three rescue boxers and I am sold for life on the breed. Hilarious, loving, loyal, and wonderful in every way.
Miss my childhood dog Brady, best friend I ever had. Only downside to this breed is saying goodbye
@Bruh-fc7ikmy precious white boy boxer MOSES đśâĽď¸
@CynthiaScholeno-v2cThe pro definitely outweigh the cons. I'm on my third boxer now and will always have one.
@scatineanThe cost of love is grief, it happens many times in life, go get one, worth every second of the 10yrs
@driftsessionsauThey are the best!
@CarynnSpenceronly con is their farts can melt paint
@gatorwhiskers9011Best ever
@winstoncrane7803I've had 5 boxers who only drooled when they were running. It's people teasing dogs with food that make boxer's drool. One of my boxers lived to 14 years. Get them from a good breeder and most health issues will be greatly minimized.
Boxers are fantastic dogs and fit into family life very well.
Boxers are phenomenal breeds. My grandparents old boxer would never let me walk down the stairs as a kid without being in front. She'd walk down with me and keep stopping to check. I've had a couple over the years and couldn't imagine owning another breed.
@Martyn_Lawsonđđ˝
@RealChinoo3xThe short life span sucks. I was so attached to my baby girl. I'm still not not over her.
@zolpi78"Fantastic Companions" Love em....
@kevfinn8232Boxers are the best breed i have ever owned. My beautiful girl NIKITA left me at 12 . Only con is there short lifespan. Two years later finally ready for a other Boxer. RIP NIKITA â¤
@CARLMARTINOA Boxer can be the most Precious thing you will ever treasure.
@PreciousBoxerTake good care of your Boxer and you and anticipate 13 years of friendship or more. Just saying from experience. After that, your life loses a great deal of meaning that can not be replaced, even with another Boxer... but it helps.
@PreciousBoxerBoxers require a lot of attention, but there will be no better friend a person could ever have. Live and learn.
@PreciousBoxerI have to disagree about Boxer dogs being smart. Perhaps selectively intelligent depending on their range of attention. No matter, there is no greater love in life than what a Boxer can provide.
@PreciousBoxerYou told me what I already know, but love all things Boxer.
@PreciousBoxerBoxers are the very best dogs no doubt! Our little rascal Buddy came to us at the age of 3 months and stayed with us for almost 15 years (2005-2020) and was a crazy pup all his life except for the last one and a half year where age caught up with his energy and a few minor health issues. He was a bit of a drooler initially but when I changed his food and cooked myself (his special meatloaf) it was manageable. What great companions he was, irreplaceable. RIP little Buddy - you're still terribly missed and often we imagine to hear your footsteps on the stair ...
@ESO529-w5iMAX.. we loved him Motto
@SeriousSweetSamurai500Motto , çome home
@SeriousSweetSamurai500I've been loved by 11 different boxers over 4 decades. â¤â¤â¤ But, they're the most hilarious, loving loyal, destructive Velociraptors on this planet from cradle to grave! You can never stay mad after one look of regret! đđđâ¤â¤â¤
@NeilHolland-mh9jcThey're hilarious and michevious⤠!

@art_bythe_laneMy FiancĂŠ and I are thinking about getting a Boxer, but we live in an apartment, both work 9-5âs and probably wonât be able to afford to have him go to Doggy Day Care when weâre working. Is this doable?
@CozzyrilloThey can live longer than 10 years. Mine is 13 and has 1 to 2 more left in the old boy.
@mountainlogistics9882I now have a 1 year old Boxer. Your descriptions are accurate thus far. Mine needs more exercise and playtime than I can provide at times, so I try to supplement that by hiring a dog walker when I am too busy to exercise her. I also question whether or not some of the many vaccinations given to dogs in the USA Today may be contributing to high cancer rates later in their lives. Likewise when spaying or neutering the dogs before they reach physical maturity, and growth plates have closed. My boxer is a joy to have around, though she has destroyed some of my stuff and digs in the yard out of boredom, or because she picks up scents from plant bulbs, truffles and certain rocks with iron oxide content. Just love your Boxer, and provide them with good food and cool, clean water. Do help them out on very hot or cold days, as needed.
@bartofilmsBorn in 54 Bruno was my first dog A BOXER lived a wonderful life Boudicca is my last dog A BOXER been a great ride
@randysteele4316They don't drool more than any other dogs, and their lifespan is on par with other breeds their size.
@reaxionsI have owned two Boxers, one lived 12yrs and the other only 9. The only con was their life span and everything else was just pure happiness.
@willp8547Is it good for a first time owner?
@noahredmond1697My boxer doesnât drool at all
@calebhemore4021I still miss my Keno. Lost him 09-12-2017. He slept on my bed and snored like a diesel engine. He was my friend. đŞ
@kees1705vanwelyI love boxers. I got my 1st boxer in my early 20s I'm in my 50s now and currently have 4. Ounce you get a boxer you will always want 1 in your life. Best friends
@joshuawellwerts2078While owning a boxer, you'll soon discover how the pros easily out-way the cons! Boxers are wonderful loving companions.
@boxerjiveWhat cons? Only health issues. This is a Perfect dog!
@shadowComingInsideThe only con of Boxer owning is the con they play on the Owners. Lol.
@neil999ishWe are now in 60s
We have our 5th , swore we wouldnât have another
Itâs harder not having one in the home . Than losing one but when you lose one you will never forget them
