Chicago Deep Dish Pizza & Foie Gras Hot Dogs | Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations | Travel Channel
Video Overview & Insights
Anthony is in Chicago, challenging his beliefs about the morality of deep dish pizza and eating the best hot dogs the country has to offer. He joins his friend and fellow foodie Louisa Chu at Burt’s Place, a Morton Grove mainstay serving amazing Chicago-style deep dish pizzas. Then, it’s off to Hot Doug’s, the national home of hot dog perfection! Foie gras dogs and french fries fried in pure duck fat, ya can’t beat it!
In my limited experience, that was a relatively short line for Hot Dougs. Only ate there a few times, because it was in a weird little out of the way area kinda behind where Riverview used to be. PS: Doug closed up shop over a decade ago.

My intro to deep dish pizza was Godfather's chain. I know it's not the same as spots like Burt's, but I loved it from the first bite. When I make pizza at home from scratch, that the way I make it.

Deep dish is good . It’s just different. Not really pizza.
@djamillakhdar-hamina3824It needs to be deep dish. To hide all his beard hair. RIP.
@winston9971R.I.P to two legends 😢
@novaduelist6747The real question is: Just as cigarette butts in Jackson Pollock's Abstract Expressionist canvases, do Burt Katz's whiskers find their way into the the allegedly nerdy gullets of the late Anthony Bourdain's assessment of his customers ? Intellectuals need to know !
@BGTuyauWith respect, it’s about calories. The entire deep dish pizza. Calories
@tcnelson3428As a local explained to me, deep dish is adjacent to the Detroit style and the Sicilian grandma style pie (DiFaras in New York does a thick Sicilian that is amazing).
@jcurrin1904Bro is acting like deep dish pizza it’s a crime against humanity! 😱 🍕
@m.hreelsDeep dish is not pizza! Its a casserole or like a lasagna variation with a crust instead of pasta layers. I mean, look at a Lasagna. Take out the pasta. Put it on a crust. Is that not what people call deep dish?
@pandaclysm205Nooo Reservation I always watched Anthony Bourdain No Reservations. He was awesome. It's Horrifying about Killiary murdering Him. Anthony Bourdain did NOT kill Himself, He was Happy and content with His Life. May You Forever Rest in Eternal Paradise Anthony Bourdain You are sadly missed and Forever Loved.
@00055PeacandHappinessI saw Anthony bourdain in a hotel last week and he was kind enough to give me a picture. My hero <3

@clarencethomas9352I can't imagine eating a pizza with a knife & fork,it's like that Seinfeld episode where people were eating M&M's with a spoon.
@WilliamBonney-gl2qfNew Yorkers can feel free to stay over there by the ocean as far away as possible.

@skullandbones1832I'm from Pittsburgh and I can go to Chicago and feel at home. We have a lot in common and good jag off people, good working class, best food in hidden locations. I consider Chicago my second home and then Philly

Rip Tony
“Deep dish pizza isn’t just bad pizza, IT’S NOT PIZZA!”
@bwillzerTo make Foie Gras you have to force feed a goose usually with a tube; as you're trying to induce large amount of kidney fat you're feeding it a very unhealthy diet as well.
It's basically animal abuse. You know what that flavor is? It's suffering.
I'll gladly eat a cheese burger, chicken, or a goose. But the living conditions forced upon geese in Foie Gras operations is just vile. It's getting banned in places all over the world because of how bad it is.
Miss this guy
@Mrbeckwith1906Quiche! Just kidding

@dustinwatkins7843Anthony Bourdain’s cause of death was later revealed to be suicide by hanging, using a belt from his hotel bathrobe to end his life. This was right after he said nasty things about the Clintons, and was about to expose them and the truth!
