Cold E-mailing (The Best Skill to Get a Job)

Video Overview & Insights

📚 Sign up to our newsletter at https://peakframeworks.com to receive the cold e-mail template!

Cold emailed close to 200 people during my IB recruiting cycle and the only real replies came from alumni or people who overlapped with a past internship of mine. Started using findwarmintros to find those shared background people before sending and my response rate went from brutal to actually workable. The personalization point is so true, the generic blasts just get deleted.

Cold e-mailing is by FAR the most important skill if you don't have a job. If you're at a non-target or have no finance experience, you NEED to play the numbers game and reach out to tons of people in order to get any interviews. I reached out to 300+ people to get my first paid internship as a sophomore.

Make sure your e-mail is concise (5-8 sentences) and professional. Personalize the e-mail and have a specific call to action. Systematically track all of your outreach and remember to follow up with people.

If I received this email (2:06), I wouldn't answer because he thinks he is so special to deserve a job. I'm sorry, you're just a stupid young. But if you reached out humbly, I would answer.

I have been doing B2B cold emails for the past decade now. To anyone coming into the space, just start with gummysend. It's much easier to use compared to the alternatives and does not have the learning curve to it.

For food companies, is it ok to use the emails on their website to send a cold Email, and ask for a job? Do they even look at those?

the superior one is cold call

There is no denying the impact of a well-structured cold email in landing that job. I have been juggling a couple of tools, and alongside Mystrika, Do You Mail stands out. Its scalability and dedicated IPs make sure my emails have high deliverability, crucial for any cold email campaign. Saving on costs while ensuring top-notch quality has been a major relief for me. Anyone serious about cold emailing should definitely have Do You Mail in their toolkit. Give it a try, you would not regret it!

I did not initially believe in cold emailing, but damn, it is a powerful tactic when you know what you are doing. I stumbled upon Mystrika, and for 7 months now, it is been an indispensable part of my routine. The ability to match providers for emails and use automatic bounce detection are functionalities I did not know I needed. And let is talk about the Facebook community of 7,000 users – always ready with tips. Oh, and their A/B testing options? Makes understanding my audience so much simpler. If you are exploring cold emails, you have got to give Mystrika a go.

Cold emailing can unlock job opportunities you would never find elsewhere. For eight months, Do You Mail has been my go-to for ensuring that my emails are top-notch. The unlimited email sending from multiple domains offers flexibility like no other, especially when teamed with Mystrika. The automatic DNS configuration is such a time-saver. Combined, these have seriously elevated my game. If you are serious about cold emailing, Do You Mail is a platform to consider.

Cold emailing vs LinkedIn messaging? Which is better? I'm debating now. For a position. I'm leaning towards the emails.

Awesome video, thank you! How do you recommend wording the follow-up email? I want it to sound professional, and desperate/nagging for attention.

How do I even get a hold of an HR official's email address?

@Zainabtriesit
@

I tried this strategy and I think the success rate of getting response is low compared to following the usual process of job application (thru ATS, system review, recruiter call, hiring call, final interview and job offer). I resorted to doing this tactic because I am someone who dislikes recruiters a lot. I have so many terrible experience working with recruiters who have no clue of what they are hiring for and profiling me to opportunities that do not even match my experiences, talents and gifts.

So far, I have reached out to 30 "possible" hiring managers, 11 of them responded, 7 got me into calls, 3 interviews and 0 offer yet.

My advice is whilst you will do this strategy, it is still a must to follow the usual hiring process (even if working with recruiters is excruciating, you can only work with them at a certain amount of time until you get hired).

do you recommend emailing multiple people at the same firm? example being 3 of the partners of a small 10 person firm or just 1 of them?

@chains-chains

I know this is a late comment but there are sites that do the trial and error part for you. I used it for finding leads at a previous internship. If anyone’s interested I can give the links as I can’t recall them off the top of my head.

Hi Matt, what would you recommend as an email to reconnect with people you've already had coffee chats with recently to express your interest in interning for the summer?

Hey Matt , I’m Ryan I’m currently a Junior undergraduate Mass Media Production student . I am however planning to switch career paths after graduation into the banking and investment industry. I have followed your videos for the past few months and want to know what advice you might have for a non traditional individual such as myself?

You could see comparable success with 1/2 the words -- have tested and seen great results with at max 5 sentence cold e-mails :)
