I moved there four years ago. Unfortunately for family reasons moved back to Illinois. The home I purchased was 230,000 new. Now if I go to purchase it now I couldnât afford it its price jumped to 430,000. Hixson was nice but felt out of place and food sucks and you can only hike so much. The Northgate Mall is vacant and although winter is mild it rains a lot. The only reason the price increases is because of people fleeing states like Illinois. Gone are the days purchasing acreage and a home for a cheap price.

When visiting Chicken-Ooga, go on a riverboat lunch or dinner ride, and go to the aquarium. We found we preferred driving up to the parking lot for the federal park instead of paying for the Inclined Railway to go up and down the slope.
