Is this the 'new normal'? While we just continue to burn up fossil fuels as if there is no tomorrow? Drill baby drill, no matter how many it will kill! I was in the city of Nijmegen with it's river Waal eight years ago. I was there in Springtime. It was so dry I watched the ground beneath my feet crack. There was no bird choir in the mornings which worried me. The river level was so low that cargo boats had to line up, only one row of boats could float down the river at one time. I'd never seen this before. I'm in my mid seventies and I must say, already when I was in my mid twenties, in the 1970s, I knew this was coming. No environment activism was listened to. None of Greta Thunbergs' words were taken serious as a fourteen year old. Big oil, gas and coal is driving this world into the ground, and fucking stupid wars causing #feminicide #infanticide #genocide and massive #ecocide. But ultimately it will be the Earth who will take revenge, and can destroy us all in one swipe. When will we acknowledge that our Earth and all it's flora and fauna has rights? Humans are too destructive to deserve to live on it. We're in big trouble and scientists knew this was coming for 100 years!
