David Benavidez - Is an American professional boxer. He has held the World Boxing Council (WBC) interim light heavyweight title since June 2024, having previously held the WBC Super Middleweight title twice between 2017 and 2020. Claiming his first title at 20 years, eight months, three weeks and one day old, Benavidez holds the record as the youngest super middleweight title holder in history. He is ranked second by The Ring magazine and second by the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board. Benavidez faced former IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux on May 21, 2022 for the vacant WBC interim super middleweight belt. Benavidez dominated the fight, dropping Lemieux hard in round 2 and scoring a stoppage in round 3 after a brutal assault. His current professional record stands at 29-0 with 24 KO's and he's rated as one of the best Light-Heavyweights in the sport today.

2 years later coming back to this video. A lot of people still underrate Benavidez skillset to this day. So many people still talk about Benavidez like he is a mindless come forward pressure fighter who lacks skills. This guy has so many tricks and traps to lure people in. He is one of the most accurate punchers in the entire sport and has incredible punch variety. I really like his footwork when he lets his hands go. He is making switches and micro adjustments with his feet mid flurries to keep himself at advantages angles. Still an underrated fighter by many!

Most exciting and talented fighter in the world right now at 168, and could easily be the best in several other classes. No one wants to fight him because they don't want to be beat down on worldwide TV. A lot of guys are never the same after taking a beating from David.

@kanondegeminis2173Benavidez is a nightmare for anybody to fight. His style is very awkward and unique to him, very hard to prepare for. Lots of people say he is lacking in certain areas, mostly his defense, but he knows what works best for him. He was sparring world champions like GGG when he was 15 or 16 and giving them good work. he knows his limits

@1anmarket5850benavides is good but he is not a monster his opponents don't even fight back they feel his power then they get scared but with Kayla plant he was throwing them back he bruised up his face yeah he lost the fight at the end but he did something different from every other fighter that has fought David before and that's fought back and not showed no fear

@millieatrBenavidez is my favourite fighter atm but mannn as I’m watching these highlights I’m realising more and more that he doesn’t have the punching power canelo has, he punches in flurry’s and although there hard shots he’s not putting them away, if canelo lands those shots he’s putting you away, and if benavidez try’s to tee off on canelo like that he’s gonna be getting countered all night, idk let me know what y’all think, I think canelo is a bad match up for benavidez 🤷♀️
