Deep Inside Sarajevo That Nobody Shows You - Hospitality, Food, History Of Bosnia And Herzegovina 🇧🇦

Video Overview & Insights

Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country in southeastern Europe on the Balkan Peninsula, bordered by Croatia, Serbia, and Montenegro. It also has a small coastline on the Adriatic Sea. Its capital and largest city is Sarajevo, a place known for its mix of cultures, religions, and historical influences.

People who don't observe Ramadan don't follow them.

— @niazkhan5894

The country’s history has been shaped by the Roman, Ottoman, Austro-Hungarian, and Yugoslav periods. These influences are still visible today in its architecture, traditions, languages, and religious diversity. Bosnia and Herzegovina is also known for its complex political structure, which reflects both its past and its effort to balance different communities.

The most important modern event in its history is the Bosnian War, which lasted from 1992 to 1995. It began after the breakup of Yugoslavia and involved conflict among Bosniak, Serb, and Croat forces. The war caused massive destruction, displacement, and loss of life, and it deeply affected the country’s society and future.

Brother davud❤🇪🇹🇪🇹🇪🇹🇪🇹📢📢📢📢📢📢

— @አርዲtube7340

Among the most tragic events of the war were the siege of Sarajevo and the genocide at Srebrenica in 1995. These events remain central to the country’s memory and are widely recognized as some of the darkest moments in postwar Europe. The war ended with the Dayton Peace Agreement in 1995, which created the current constitutional framework.

Today, Bosnia and Herzegovina is a parliamentary democracy with two main entities, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska, plus the Brčko District. Its population includes Bosniaks, Serbs, and Croats, and this diversity shapes politics, culture, and daily life. Religion is also an important part of its identity, with Islam, Eastern Orthodoxy, and Roman Catholicism all present.

Wow, my Daughter and her family are visiting in Bosnia rt now also!

— @jafaralamin7540

Bosnia and Herzegovina has faced economic challenges since the war, including unemployment and slower development, but it has also made progress in trade, tourism, and infrastructure. Cities like Sarajevo and Mostar attract visitors for their history, architecture, and natural beauty. The country remains a symbol of resilience, carrying both the weight of its war history and the hope of continued recovery and stability.

Assalamu Alaikum!!!!*
Sir, I live in Qatar. It’s me, my husband, and my son. My husband runs a hat shop here. We suddenly collapsed in a way we never expected.

The day before yesterday, on 8/3, my husband was arrested by the police here for not having an ID. Now he is in jail. There are also some bounced cheques.

Because of that, the police are saying that if we don’t pay by tomorrow 8/6, he will have to stay for one year.
I have seen you helping people. If you can help me, it would be a great blessing 🙏

My son is 1 year and 1 month old. We have to take him to the hospital every 3 months because he has a problem with both legs. He has already had an operation for that.

If you can help me, may Allah be with you 🤲

all I can say is a big thank you for coming to my country, I wish you all the best on your travels and hope you will one day return to Bosnia with your family. There is so much one could say about Bosnia, in relation to Palestine we can't complain now but if the walls around you could talk you would have heard a story that makes tears roll and live a smile since now is a different time and people like you can come to us and experience a beautiful country! If you have time Mostar is a nice city to visit, Srebrenica is a story in itself and many small towns with waterfalls and rivers that look magical! lots of luck to my brother

The biggest banknote before separation was 500.000 dinars (with Josip Broz Tito on the banknote) which was released in 1989.
The 500,000,000,000 dinar banknote was issued in the post-separation Yugoslavia, officially known as the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, which consisted only of Serbia and Montenegro.

Interesting thing about prayer beads are used practically in most world religions:
1. Earlier Indian religions (which eventually become "Hinduism") started using them first (prayer beads known as mala), then
2. Budhism - adopted them as well; eventually
3. Christians - started using them and became known as rosary; while
4. Muslims - also started using them (called misbaha) around 8th century

Brother im from Sarajevo and you are just in one part from Sarajevo where its only for tourists you should go deeper into the city and visit the Avaz Tower where you can see whole sarajevo. Also go to „brdo zuc“ where you can shoot weapons in the mountain on a shooting Range etc you can do a lot of fun stuff. The old town is just a touristic attraction and pretty boring
