Bro what are you saying!? Brazil had “samba style” with vini and rafi on the wings - the problem was with their midfield that felt completely missing - their midfield got dominated

My opinion: The 2026 FIFA World Cup final could be Brazil vs Portugal, and Brazil will win the World Cup. This time, the teams most likely to win the World Cup are Brazil and Portugal. In my view, Portugal also has a very high chance of reaching the World Cup final.

I am saying this as an Argentina supporter — in my opinion, Argentina are not favorites this time. The teams that look like favorites in my eyes this time are Brazil, Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and England.

Based on my personal assessment, the chances of winning the World Cup are:

Portugal: 90%
Brazil: 88%
Germany: 70%
France: 60%
England: 50%
Spain: 40%

Brazil's coach, Carlo Ancelotti, is a mastermind. An experienced coach like him can help Brazil immensely to win the World Cup. This time, instead of leaning on star power, Brazil has given places in the World Cup squad to those who have performed well. Blending experience and youth, Brazil's squad has become outstanding. On top of that, Neymar's return has given the team a sense of completeness.

Before the 2002 World Cup, Ronaldo Nazário was out of the Brazil national team for a long time due to injury. A very similar situation has unfolded for Neymar this time. But later, Ronaldo went on to become one of the best players of the 2002 World Cup tournament. So, I am keeping Neymar within the realm of possibility to achieve something big as well.

Brazil is determined to win the World Cup this time. They have chosen the Red Bull High Performance Center as their World Cup base camp. It has state-of-the-art training facilities. The current head of this Red Bull High Performance Center in New York is one of the Premier League's top coaches, the German mastermind Jürgen Klopp.

According to Brazilian media, Carlo Ancelotti selected this training center for Brazil after discussing it with Jürgen Klopp. While other teams are staying in five-star hotels, Brazil has made an unconventional decision. However, this training center is no less than any five-star hotel.

The center has a pitch whose characteristics closely match the pitch of the World Cup final venue, MetLife Stadium. As a result, Brazil will get the opportunity to practice there for an extended period. Additionally, special technology-based boots are being used for regular monitoring of the players' physical condition, which they will wear for long periods before and after playing.

In my opinion, luck is also speaking in Brazil's favor this time. The 2018 and 2022 World Cup-winning teams, France and Argentina, were both in Group C in their respective victorious campaigns. This time, Brazil is also in Group C.

Brazil won their third World Cup in 1970. After that, it took 24 years to win the fourth World Cup, meaning they had to wait until 1994. In exactly the same way, Brazil last won the World Cup in 2002, and the 2026 World Cup is taking place 24 years later. Again, the last time the United States hosted the World Cup, Brazil became champions then too. This time, the United States is once again one of the co-hosts of the World Cup.

In my view, Portugal's chances of playing the World Cup final are extremely high. Portugal's squad is as strong as that of Spain and France. They recently defeated Spain to win the UEFA Nations League. In my opinion, Portugal's midfield is currently one of the best midfields in the world.

It is natural to consider a team that has a player like Cristiano Ronaldo as favorites. Portugal's coach, Roberto Martínez, has been in charge of the team for a long time. He knows and understands the team very well. Portugal is so serious about winning the World Cup that they have even appointed a separate coach for set pieces.

This time, I have some concerns regarding Argentina. Even though I am an Argentina supporter, I am speaking while considering reality.

Messi is so dedicated to football that he can't stay without playing a match. In my opinion, he should have rested in Inter Miami's last two matches. He has played almost every match for the full 90 minutes. Taking some rest before the World Cup would have been good.

Messi is currently playing for the MLS club Inter Miami. Since he does not get the opportunity to regularly face top-level European opponents, it is difficult to assess the true standard of his preparation. Last season, he missed many matches due to injury. But this season, he has played almost every match, which has slightly increased the injury risk ahead of the World Cup.

In this World Cup, Messi will be 39 years old. It won't be easy for him to perform like before. Therefore, Argentina must play as a collective unit. Expecting Messi to shoulder all responsibilities alone won't be realistic. How much more can he do by himself?

Cristian Romero, Lisandro Martínez, and Julián Álvarez did not play in their clubs' last few matches in order to keep themselves fully fit for the national team. Still, in my opinion, Argentina's chance of winning the World Cup is very slim this time.

Many players in the current Argentina squad are not in their best form. Competition at the World Cup is much higher this time. I will miss Ángel Di María a lot. His absence will trouble Argentina. In my view, Di María's absence cannot be fully compensated.

Argentina's injury problems are quite serious this time. The way injuries have struck the team is truly unbelievable. The injury list includes Gonzalo Montiel, Nahuel Molina, Nicolás Tagliafico, Cristian Romero, Lisandro Martínez, Nico Paz, Paredes, and Julián Álvarez.

Many of these players are automatic choices for Argentina's starting eleven and were part of the World Cup plans from the beginning. Their absence could therefore put the team in big trouble.

I also have concerns about Argentina's defense. The defensive line is still not fully stable. Although experienced players like Nicolás Otamendi are in the squad, his pace is no longer what it used to be due to age.

In the 2022 World Cup, Argentina conceded many goals in the second half. After scoring one goal, the team would become overly defensive, giving the opponents opportunities.

The full-back problem existed in the 2022 World Cup as well, and it still exists this time. In modern football, full-backs are extremely important. They make crucial contributions in both attack and defense. The current UEFA Champions League champions, PSG, possess some of the best full-backs in the world.

In my view, Lionel Scaloni should have prepared at least four players each for the left and right full-back positions. If he had tested many footballers playing well in various European leagues by giving them opportunities, perhaps at least two reliable alternatives could have been found today.

There is also some concern about the midfield. Rodrigo De Paul, Alexis Mac Allister, Enzo Fernández, and Exequiel Palacios — none of them had a very bright season at club level. Consequently, problems in midfield could arise in the middle of the World Cup.

De Paul might get a place in the starting eleven because he is a close friend of Messi, but his current form doesn't speak much in his favor.

Here, I will offer some criticism of World Cup-winning coach Lionel Scaloni. After the 2021 Copa América and before the 2022 World Cup, when Argentina had almost secured qualification for the World Cup, he should have given more opportunities to younger players. Instead, he mostly relied on the same set of players. The same trend is visible this time as well.

As a result, now that key players are ruled out due to injury, the lack of alternatives is becoming evident. In my opinion, right after winning the World Cup, at least four players should have been kept ready for every position. If everyone had been given equal chances and the best ones selected, Argentina's squad would have had much more depth today.

The Argentine Football Federation also bears some responsibility. Like last time, they could not arrange enough friendly matches against top European teams this time either. Playing against weak opponents does not fully prepare a team for a big tournament like the World Cup.

Therefore, in my opinion, if Argentina gets knocked out from the quarter-finals onwards, it wouldn't be very surprising. There is also a possibility of them being eliminated in the quarter-finals.

Of course, I want Argentina to win the World Cup. No one will be happier than me if Argentina wins the World Cup. However, reality is forcing me to think differently.

One thing must be remembered, though — Argentina has no extra pressure of winning the World Cup this time. They are the current world champions. Even if they don't win the World Cup, their achievement will not be diminished.

Perhaps luck is also not entirely on Argentina's side. In the history of the World Cup, since the FIFA ranking system was introduced, no team ranked number one before the start of the World Cup has ever won the tournament. This time, Argentina is ranked number one in the FIFA rankings.

Just thinking about watching Messi's last World Cup match in an Argentina jersey makes me feel a kind of emptiness in my heart. Perhaps Messi could have played for the national team for a few more years had he wanted to. Cristiano Ronaldo is older than Messi, yet he is still considering the possibility of playing in the 2030 World Cup.

Lastly, lots of best wishes and love for Messi and Argentina. Whatever the result, Argentina will remain in my heart.

Switzerland are solely responsible for the Draw. They missed so many chances despite being so good on attacks especially from the Wings. They could not finish many close chances which resulted in a draw. Morocco started the game with such domination and were the better side for most of the game but the individual brilliance from Vini made sure the game was a tie.
