Chase credit cards aren’t what they used to be, and neither are Chase points. In recent months, we’ve seen Chase playing around with the value of their Ultimate Rewards points. The Chase Sapphire Preferred and Chase Sapphire Reserve cards used to have guaranteed, fixed point values for travel via the Chase portal, but that’s now changed to a fluctuating range of values.
Additionally, there’ve been some negative changes to the Chase transfer partners, alongside Chase making it more difficult to track your spending on certain cards.
Which credit card has the easiest travel insurance claims process?
Perhaps as a personal opinion, I think the rewards categories on the Chase Freedom Flex card have become less useful for day-to-day spending than in years past. I also think many people will agree the big devaluation to the Chase Pay Yourself Back program was a big blow to the overall value proposition of the cards that offered it (predominantly the Chase Sapphire Reserve and Chase Sapphire Preferred).
Finally, the Chase credit card application rules have changed noticeably. The new Chase pop up jail / window is actually beneficial, but the vaguer language in the terms and conditions leaves room for too much grey area.
Can I link BILT credit card in Monarch?
Is there still value with Chase credit cards? Absolutely, but only for the people who can or want to extract the value. The old rule of ‘Get Chase Cards First’ may not be as applicable as it once was.

Terms are always subject to change. This too shall pass. I say be willing to change banks and pick the one that works best for you ever 6 months to year. Chase sign up bonuses (pun def. intended), don’t lock into anything. This might pull you away from Chase bank, or keep you with them.

The only reason I’m keeping my CSP card open is because of the dash pass credit that basically pays for the AF. We’ll see what they do now until December of next year when that credit expires if I down grade or not.

So sad to see this happening…
Mark, I love to hear your thoughts but I think at the end of the day, the Ritz Carlton card is the best premium card in the Chase family. Straightforward benefits, no coupon book.

I’m glad I got to experience this card well before all the changes and got huge value in the past. I been window shopping on the travel portal for highest redemptions at 2 cents per point for Europe and noticed all the options I saw are all now at most 1.65 cents per point. This video confirms the devaluations that I found in multiple cities. I’m going to be looking for a new points system and I’m not happy with Amex coupon books either. The game changed

I have the reserve for the 125k points, I will downgrade after renewal. Amex is king. Don’t plan on moving to Citi.

Each of my 9 cards offered me $20K to $25K limits but Chase delivers generous $1K CLI’s. So now I’m at $14K from $5K.

Curious I have all Chase cards and with the bonus category am I wrong in saying my flex is better then my preferred for plane tickets ? Trying to decide which card to use for tickets or just skip Chase entirely use Amex or bilt for now and drop the preferred card because it’s utterly useless unless you travel a lot

If you’re starting out. I would get Capital one or Citi cards first now. They seem very inquiry sensitive.

So Chase is doing the "deliver value to shareholders" thing uhmm?

The only positive about chase is you can transfer to United Airlines. That's the only plus I stayed at a hyatt in san francisco. The grand hyatt at the san francisco international airport. That place was overpriced and shit
@SteelCityTVI've always said discover has better 5% categories than chase.
@TheAudioCzarAmex business cards are top tier
@justinelliott2000Chase needs to add more transfer partners. With Hyatt devaluing substantially, Chase simply can’t compete with with Citi and Bilt for transfer partners
@PM3120X5They need to drop 5/24
@riffraffehChase sucks good luck with Chase.
@keysautorepair6038It’s still very easy to track on the app for the iPhone for the Chase Freedom Flex.
@yvonnepatton1502I did find the Ebay category useful as I bought some old school game consoles and Bowflex dumbells. But I do think that Chase is really going downhill. They are extremely strict about their Business cards and I got my very 1st card denial when I applied for the Chase Ink Business preferred card. The 5% bonus categories are not only useless, you cant even redeem your points for Cash bank into a non Chase account anymore so I am no longer using my Chase cards like I used to.
@pointsofview6346Unlike some other banks, credit cards are only a small part of Chase’s portfolio.
@curmudgeonextraordinaire1884I do agree that Chase is not at all that special anymore. In fact, I even stopped activating the 5% on my classic Freedom because most of the time I find myself wanting to use another card instead such as for Amazon purchases I have an Amazon store card which gives me 5% cash back.
@Sci-Fi_Fan296Easiest way to fix all these problems for you is stop using Chase and cancel all their cards. Maybe they will learn.
@romineckok.9724JP Morgan Chase is the most dishonest bank in America.
@J0HN_3_16It’s funny because they just dropped 150 K welcome bonus 😂
@JCooper-mq8tmI am just going to switch to easy cash back cards. This is turning into a part time job trying to keep track of everything
@TerrytryingtoretireChase always has blown folks are finally waking up after further devaluations on top of the little value they offered prior! 😂
@shawn.creditthey deserve the proper ripping 😂 good video
@chadharmon5716Yeah chase is now trash I'm over them I just switched to Citi and WF
@ThicBoiiI think this is a case of corporate sabotage - Chase hired someone from Amex who is secretly still with Amex and just makes decisions and changes that are destroying Chase credit card base.
@bringyourdaughtertotheslau5297None of the credit cards are the way they used to be. I started late in this game and I hear of all the glory days of points. We are not there anymore. Cruises aren’t there anymore. Travel is just getting more expensive as well as all the flights and all the hotels are getting harder to use points to get something for free.
@CUTravel1stCan I get the Chase Reserve if I cancel my Shappire?
@chrisharlan4021Moving on to Citi see more opportunity there.
@volkswagen4866This is my last few month with chase reserve , once the increased annual fee hits, i am out
@rudra1087Chase is doing a masterclass of how to lose its customer base. Fascinating.
@2Icy_4YouChase needs to have an update on their multipliers, cashback, and points. Amex, Citi, and CapOne are beating them
