We all know someone with psychopathy.
Sounds like a super power

I understand that I should feel remorse.
But few know the truth about it. We’re helping change that… by helping you know the signs. Know about treatment options and resources. And know you’re not alone.
James Fallon is a professor of neuroscience at University of California at Irvine, and the author of the book The Psychopath Inside. He considers himself a "prosocial psychopath."
Intentions mean nothing. You are sick like a lot of people i know saying i am right i did not intend to hurt you. It is what you actually do is what counts.
He joins us today on zoom to discuss what it is like to be psychopathic.
One of the main issues but how about people don't vote for psychopaths...that could be a start.

As a psychopath, I can attest that remorse is unknown to me. I have tried to manipulate situations to help people and have been yelled at for doing so, and only felt confused afterwards.
@blackcrowpirate147Having remorse does not mean that you aren't psychopathic. Psychopaths can have remorse, but not the feeling of remorse... it's an acknowledgement, not a feeling, that what they did hurt someone.
@PlantKindness-t4y"it was a joke", "it's not a big deal", "your too sensitive" he didn't choose his condition but it must be a pain to deal with him
@josephmbimbiYeah they don't intend to harm but other person get harmed anyway so...
@GregBraden-e4tHe says that he doesn't enjoy hurting others, but that's not what the question asked. The question was asking whether or not he ever felt remorse. Non-psychopathic people feel remorse if they hurt others, whether it was the result of something intentional or not. Him trying to justify himself and not feeling any remorse at all is one of the clear traits of this personality disorder.
@danman6612Hes annoying because there's always a constant feeling he is trying to xonvince you of the buklshit he is selling snd trying to sell you on his great personslity snd quirkyness just to seem the best person in the room
@salthazar1237What is he yapping about. Let's do it once again.
Do you feel remorse?
I simply don't care.
Always believe psychopaths & narcissists!!! 😂😂😂
@JPKiersNo actual affect. He smiles but not like a human smiles
@dereks2009I rarely experience remorse. It’s not because I’m so very good, but because I rarely act on ‘bad’ impulse. And if I do accidentally harm someone along the way, I sincerely offer to make amends. I see that as being different from remorse. Likewise I only ever say what I mean, and will often hold my tongue if what I wish to say will hurt someone while not accomplishing something of greater good. So I am virtually never in the position of trying to retract words. Again, that’s different from those folks who say hurtful things for the sake of hurting someone.
So “not feeling remorse” is not necessarily a good indicator of a psychopath. It has to be paired with either a will to hurt, or with a depraved indifference to hurting others while pursuing your own interests.
Wow, he seems like a nicer version of my father who loved to tease and belittle me and my twin brother. He also enjoyed scaring us. Years later my aunt described him as 'disturbed'. All her family believed that. Imagine having this kind of man as your role model.
@Actaeon2ndIs he able to 'not lie'?
@sumitss6lite286"dad you hurt me" - "you are being overly sensitive"
@zekaaythis is such a sad neurodevelopmental disorder. no one deserves to be psychopathic, its not their fault. hopefully we can develop more effecrive treatments in the future. empathy is necessary for healthy mental wellbeing. thank you for sharing these videos!
@mmissjuliaEveryone makes mistakes. It's self-evident and unavoidable. A man as intelligent as this should understand that. Regret isn't just about feelings.
@ezakustamHe seems really nice for a guy with no conscience
@voxpathfinder15r0:35
Yes, yes it is bad, especially when you're an adult.
Get out of your own head and consider others.
I do not feel remorse for anything. I just consider it another day at the office and move on. Have I made some bad decisions...of course but remorse does not fix the problem. I put that energy into something positive like trying to correct the problem. That does not make me a psychopath, it makes me a secure and responsible person. I've been seeing a psycotherapist for years and we've had this discussion. He agrees with me now that he understands how I deal with it in life. It's the mature and safe way to get a positive outcome.
@pablooso1941No buddy your arent a psychopath. Saying you have traits is a long way from being anything like a clinically diagnosed psychopath. On the spectrum maybe but thats not relly bankable is it?
@harryhill8543He's a good person. He's just got a brain that doesn't use empathy it uses reasoning. He still reasons to be good because it's what he wants to be. He's about as dangerous as a pet lion. If he likes you and it's not in his interest to hurt you you'll be fine. By interest I mean he may value a stress free life and killing someone would add a lot of obligations he might not want to go through, like going to court etc and it would sully his name and image is what he cares a lot about. He wants to be nice and cares about people's perception of him because it directly reflects on his image and social value.
@LeoMumfordIs there a reason why people label others? Why they put people into boxes? Likely because of fear for the unknown. Our brains are a puzzle. Hence there are some so fearful of the unknown that they categories that which really is as good as impossible to categories… for each of us is unique. We all have traits totally unique to us.
@degalan2656구정물에서나오면돼 그럼그만이야
@민달이-n8wHow to live life as someone who never feel remorseful? Is it okay to make new relationships? Have trouble keeping relationships except for my mother.
@wood6454The person I grew up with must be a psychopath, as he enjoys hurting people, especially his own family.
@kiddynamite3931He looks like that eastern European leftist guy
@SebastianSuave-u2mI think he just has ADHD
@PatriciaWilson-fy3coSo basically a bad person in normal people words. 😂
@bluefungiAlready sounds terrible. No wonder we outcast these kind. 😂
@bluefungiHe is unable to take blame, because he wants to avoid consequences.
@real_hello_kittyWhy does he sound like Donald Trump
@ansvarskanalen4360in other words, his ego doesn't allow his to accept blame. even the hypothetical example he gave has a built-in excuse. the answer to the question would be a simple "no, my psyche isn't capable of empathy," but he explained it as if he's never truly wronged a person and therefore shouldn't feel remorse.
@josh-kf2rdWould a psychopath even tell if they had bad intentions tho?
@TheStrings-83639He doesn't sound like a Psychopath at all
@nazty121Gay
@31minutesagoThis is exactly how I've always felt about it. I wasn't intentionally trying to hurt them, so I don't feel bad about doing whatever it is that I did.
And other times, like he said, it's just a case of them being overly sensitive or picky or something, which, ya know, isn't my problem.
Like if you wanna get all sad or upset or pissy about something that I did or said, especially when there was no ill will intended, then fine, be upset, but please go do it somewhere else; don't bother me with it.
Thank you for recording and posting these valuable educational videos.
@smirkinatu5512If i hear another person that's like me i get angry 😂 lol where did the equality go recently
@Anonymous-ye4bgSo, he could never help you resolve a problem if you were looking to him to help you talk it out. The resolution would have to be like "I am wrong to seek comfort from him. I could probably stand to learn not to ask others for what they can't give me," and then later "I don't need him to agree. He's who he is."
@LisarataMy best friend in high school was a psychopath. I always had this arrogant notion in the back of my head that I could "fix" him, or that I was "making him a better person" by being his friend like he used to tell me. It turned out that he had tried to use me in a very severe way and that his cutdown comments throughout the years were not so innocuous. Last I knew he had a fairly successful career as a door to door scam artist. I wonder if he ever realized that he was a psychopath.
@RubbaDubbaDooskieThe is not a genuine psychopath. Autistic maybe but not a psychopath.
@nevermindnvermindIt’s interesting because the Bible doesn’t really tell us to “feel” regarding our sin. It tells us to repent (turn away) and follow God. I find that fascinating. Because God knew some people who would read the Bible, can’t really feel emotion. So he doesn’t tell them to.
@kkb892Trump
@SoulVision1111Very interesting people, should be more understood, not necessarily trusted fully
@ash_ley333So many psychopaths have eyes that are close together
@jflsdknfI don't think he is s psychopath then. Because if he didn't try to hurt them he shouldn't feel guilty but he is clearly bummed that they were hurt. It would be psychopathic if he was trying to hurt them
@xklmsourcelight4987Contrary to what some "edgy kids" out there seem to believe, psychopathy is NOT an excuse to act however the hell you want towards other people. Everyone has an ethical responsibility to avoid mistreating other people, and psychopaths are expected to do research on that stuff, so that they learn how they are not supposed to act.
