Best safety car. 💪

— @ErselYILGIN

Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:

- a frontal impact test, 50% of the width of the car is striking an oncoming deformable barrier, also travelling at 50 km/h

— @murderdrones_N-g9c

- a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid full width barrier

- a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door and the robustness of the centre airbag is evaluated

We have a model Y

— @Loppo_79Blox

- a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole.

A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled as well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests.

Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders), lane support and speed assistance technologies.

I'm impressed by the glass roof.
It's basically intact bar for the pole test where it cracked but not as much as I would expect.

All the same Tesla! Both are Model Y, does it matter where it is manufactured? I'm really curious! Because I wanted to buy it originally, but saw that this Tesla disintegrated! It is simply impossible to buy. How can I ensure that this problem has been improved?

In a Tesla you don't worry about the safety of the test dummy but how much it destroys the testing equipment ^_^
Also why euroncap doesn't perform headlights testing, just like IIHS in america?

The front passenger airbag inflated for an empty seat in the side pole test. I think this car is supposed to have an automatic passenger airbag cutoff so the passenger airbag never inflates for below a certain amount of weight, a very valuable safety feature especially for children. Does the EU-spec Model Y have a manual shutoff that was activated for the full frontal but not the side pole, or is this a failure of the airbag mechanism?

Heard these sounds routinely in my neighborhood Jamaica. Usually involved cement mixers and airport limos, the quite common big GM and Fords. Ahh those were the days.

Why would a car be reversing at 40km/h

@BSenta

No acepto que se hayan eliminado los airbags de rodillas delanteros ni pueda llevar airbags laterales de torax traseros, la mayoria de modelos por este motivo tendrian que tener 0 estrellas EURONCAP.

Why does the car only get 82% in the vulnerable road user test?

@doctorhehe

Looks cool and all but realistically most cars don't blast through an intersection unless there's no other vehicles around (and it is not a 4 way stop, I'm thinking left turns out in the country from one road to another that doesn't have a stop sign for the driver) and most drivers see the pedestrian out of the corner of their eye and wait before moving.. In the case that a driver doesn't see a pedestrian coming, this is useful though
