Europe has always been a superpower. To think otherwise is both foolish and delusional - it didn't focus on military because both the world wars were fought on its soil. Its people wish heavily for peace and stability, but thats not to say that European people aren't inherently capable of immense violence.

There is a large difference between being peaceful and being defenseless. The World has proven that defenselessness is no longer an option. The World has decided that incivility and barbarism are required for survival once again.

Thanks for the informative video! As a pacifist (ie, an unrealistic dreamer) I totally agree with the decision to rearm Europe. There is no other way. Ditching the US was a huge and very important decision, on so many levels - not only militarily. What we see here is imho the awakening of Europe after decades of being asleep. The "old and sluggish" continent remembers its previous strength. New global trade alliances are formed at record pace, the energy transition flows on high speed, the rearmament and infrastructure renewal projects are driving European economies. Who'd have thought before 2022 how quickly things can change? And imagine: entire Europe is applauding the rearmament of GERMANY - this shows how much European countries have grown together.

It's rearming so that it can wage wars again.. Not defensive, but offensive. And as usually, they'll make up a reason.
