What an unattractive person in every way. Add the controversy around the cruelty free practice and I would avoid at all cost.

I have never bought anything by Charlotte Tilbury (because there aren't any shops where I could try products first, and they are too expensive to order and then not to be happy) but I did buy a few Kiko eyeshadow sticks and a lipstick. Kiko is not a good brand for me. The sticks are too dry, lipstick just not as good as my Clarins, Mac, Fenty etc.
I will probably still not buy anything by CT because the names of her products are off-putting. I despise Hollywood, I think catwalk models whose names she uses promote anorexia and unreal beauty standards. And she's just out of touch.
Also, her products are never on sale! Nars, Mac, Lancome, Dior.... there are some codes for 20% off, not for Tilbury! I mean, eff off, pardon my French.

That snippet of an interview was a real turn off. Charlotte should let her products speak for themselves (unless they canāt), itās embarrassing that she keeps coming at us with these outbursts about dupes. I donāt see any other high end brands trying desperately to defend their products against dupes.

I do think she is off putting... BUT I would also agree that it would be irritating to see a company full on copy your aesthetic and product idea. If I take the time to formulate something just how I want it and design the component beautifully, after a while it would bother me. I don't think she's in the wrong for standing up for her idea and brand. Dupes before were found because a creator identified what made a product great did the work to dig and find a hidden gem. The out in the openness just feels like cheap theft. š¤·āā

I would love to see a dupe compilation!
@Leslee_LaneThe people who are mad never created something only for another company to blatantly create lower quality dupes to steal your customers. And not just cosmetics... everything under the sun. Those who can do. Those who can't.. steal from others, apparently. (and I am saying this as a female business owner... not a CT Customer. )
@schatzipIts called Capitalism. Charlotte Tilbury isn't coming out with anything innovative and new these days so she may not need worry about dupes much longer. Charlotte is just putting the nail in coffin of her brand every time she whines about dupes.
@gingerginger4608I think some luxury makeup is actually better quality and i can tell, like dior and chanel. Charlotte tilbury is not one of those brands, i returned her eyeshadow quad. Also the packaging is cheap.
@jjewl5506I use some old her stuff I have tried most of it. However itās not all that great on me. Her lip stickās are great, setting spray and the pressed powder are great for me. However I donāt like much else most of the other things are not long wearing especially for my mature oily skin. Her shadow all of them either have fallout and/or donāt last.
@kimberlyfamoly5863I agree with Charlotte. Inexpensive make up never lasts. Expensi e makeup is made witĄ more pigmentx and creates better colors.
@janetleesteinman9165The hair is hair-ingggggg omg it looks sooooo good!!
@josephhomanick8964People still continue to buy and sponsor her stuff...
@Poptart94212She just comes off as greedy and cynical. What a poor sport.
@jenikatI'm mad that I could buy some luxury makeup or skincare but first of all, they're being ridiculous for not being cruelty free, and second of all, most packaging is not even better, as you said. Maybe some Chanel or the metheorites by Guerlain, but again, not cruelty free, so meh, Essence, Nyx and Covergirl are my pals now I guess haha
@adrymxlhere's the thing, people complaining about what she said was never her target market, if anything this is free promotion for her. People with money would not care about the dupe and that is the point. there are people with money out there who value the original and would never touch a dupe, like me. So if you're poor or can't see the value of the original, then go buy the cheap dupe.
@NRLNK-RivalsBYe Charles š¤£. I look better in chanel
@laurelcats7788I'm done. I'd prefer to buy Dior over you CT. Bye and cover your ears CT....may buy a CT dupe and smile š¤£
@laurelcats7788I didnt know charlotte tilbury was a person until todayš
@dailycheeWhen she talks, I have the same reaction as when I come across those "cringe compilation" videos š¤¢
@ZombieismIsAChoiceThese are two different audiences. People who can afford CT will buy it and it may or may not be higher quality and those cannot won't.
@HoneyBootskiI love McoBeauty for Charlotte Tilbury dupes, especially the setting spray
@RobinJones-gs1ioI always was more of a drugstore girlie, then a high end girly.
I watched dupe videos and I kind of liked the content, but it wasn't really the case, that I looked for a dupe for a specific beauty product I wanted and more of "I test the affordable beauty products and search for formulas etc. I like".
Only the tubing mascara from Clinique that is around for a long time, is a product I rebought because all the alternatives I tested 10 years ago weren't as good. Now with tubing mascara being a trend again and the formulas of drugstore getting better, I finally found a pretty good one from essence.
I will buy and use this until maybe the trends change and I have to buy the Clinique one again.
Me in 2006: buying Dior, LancƓme, YSL because they had the quality to almost justify the price
Me in 2026: buying essence and catrice because they perform just as well if not better than luxury products and I need money for basic living expenses
I WON'T EVEN LOOK AT HER CRAP NOW
@grannyroberts-h2pI think that nowadays the difference between dupe and knock off is really the pretense. Like, a dupe is saying it does the same (or basically the same) thing as a more expensive product. A knock off is pretending to be the same brand (which I personally still think is a weird thing to do, primarily because a lot of it especially with knock off bags is trying to trick consumers who don't have luxury bag knowledge). Whereas because dupes used to be seen in such a bad light they had a lot more pretense involved than they do nowadays.
@blueberrycowboyI am not surprised. CT has been behaving very unprofessionally for ages.
@blueberrycowboyIt didn't bother me, because it's true. But it's not as if this is anything, new. People have been copying everything from music to makeup to clothes to bags...
@HappyCats17Isnāt the cost of most makeup products in the packaging? In that case, her rant on the science of her ingredients is flawed. Sheās an annoying person. Canāt stand her.
@jenniferschauer5759Okay, RANDOM RANT! I used to work for Estee Lauder and let me tell you when i say , working in the industry and trying SO much product is kind of a blessing and a curse at the same time. Yes it's exciting and also you realize how cheap some products are made but are being marketed through the roof just because they have some brands name on the front. Some things yes, they cannot be duped like for example Tom Ford Lipsticks , Eyeshadows and Bronzers. I haven't come across a lipstick to do so much and be just absolutely perfect and truly to be worth the £49 mark. But also when it comes to dupes some of them are a rip off indeed , the ingredients might be dodgy etc but at the same time some perform waaay better than the original 'luxury' product. CT is such a snob and her products are so cheaply made, they do not perform, they are tacky, everything i have tried from her has performed worse than superdrug especially her mascaras, lipsticks, lipglosses etc. I just don't get the hype for such a low quality maybe mediocre at best product. Her setting spray is so heavily perfumed, its sticky and it creates a film on your face where your face feels like you've put glue on it and kinda cracks when you move it, it's so drying and it exaggerates every possible pore you didn't know you had ,and let me tell you i have oily skin and when i mean oily, i mean OIL CENTRAL! I don't even wanna think what that does to a dryer ish skin type. Yikes. Milani however , the original setting spray is 10/10 and a fraction of a price, no perfume, no weird sticky film, truly keeps your oils in check and its not drying at all. Elf Stay all Night Micro Fine Setting Mist as well, amazing! Even though i use to work for a luxury brand my makeup collection is somewhere i would say 70% drugstore and 30% luxury just because everything i have tried from big brands has been so disappointing and i'm done wasting my money on shitty products. I will gladly spend on products i know i can count on 100% , regardless if its superdrug or luxury, DUPE OR NOT. Hope this helps. Rant over.
@irinasecan6758She has a point, her creamy matte lipstick formula is unbeatable. I havent stumbled upon anything close to that comfort in matte department. Not a fan of her witch side tho
@NataliaCopelandIf the brands are going to treat their products like dupes and charge brand prices, why would the customers not also treat their brand like a dupe with an absurd price tag. Get what works. Get it for a price point you can afford. Aesthetic is not quality.
This is my opinion as someone who rarely wears makeup. š¤£š¤£
I always minded when someone duped an entire palatte..formula, color array, even arrangement of the pans. That really is theft of intellectual property. But making the type of powder everyone wants right now, in a favored shade, is something else. Even in the early to mid 1900s, every brand had mostly the same catagories of make up in the same shades. If yours is really better, people will find that out and buy accordingly.
@nancybailey3955I get her eye cream but her attitude is off putting.
@Luna4122Not cruelty free! Keep your overpriced makeup too arrogant for me.
@JulieM-b8gAs a fellow 30 something, the UGGs parallel hit hard - I was desperate to wear brand name anything, the very thought of wearing knock-offs was unimaginable. Fast forward to today and I love my Birkenstock dupes.
@arealdonutIdk, maybe in enemy territory here and Iām not defending CT (because Iām mad at her for discontinuing the only eyeliner pencil I ever loved), but in general I think the knockoff-luxury debate is so tiring. Personally I see makeup, bags, fashion, furniture - all of that is art that we live with and use, which is inherently a luxury. When these products are beautiful, well made and high quality, they are not gonna be cheap (not saying every high price tag is justified either). Iām just saying, Iāve RARELY bought a cheap/knockoff version of something that I didnāt regret. So with these more frivolous purchases I tend to support brands or people doing things that I think are creative or original, because I want my luxury products to actually LOOK and FEEL luxurious. also think the obsession with cheap stuff has led us to devalue everything we use and the human creativity and labor that went into it, and contributes more to waste. People can like whatever products work for them, but I guess I donāt understand the āoutrageā from dupe lovers over this š like, if they were never gonna buy the expensive thing anyway, why do they care if people like CT say they have low standards? And similarly, why would luxury brands be concerned with attracting the budget consumer when thatās not what theyāre about, I.e. you canāt make ābudget luxuryā because thatās an oxymoron.
@madisonglattli9748āIf I could do it for those prices, I wouldā lying with such ease and confidence is so ugly. Not to mention her skincare is the most ridiculous part of everything. Prices are through the roof for her magic cream which underperforms compared to a Korean moisturiser thatās worth 10 times less. No exaggeration!
@deni3597Her behavior is cheaper than the drugstore products š¬š¬
@jennifer2867Drugstore brands are very high performing these days. Itās not like it used to be.
I get CT being proud of the time and creativity that goes into being the FIRST to create a product. But being proud of your own products is not the same thing as completing dismissing drugstore dupes.
I honestly think she has kind of lost sight of what really differentiates luxury products from drugstore products these days. Itās not the product itself, itās the packaging, the experience, etc.
No one's reinventing the wheel! So stop fooling yourself.
@LaggardInLovethis reminds me of hailey bieber making pocket blushes inspired from westman atelier blushes. i would say that rhode blushes are dupish of westman atelier but nobody is saying westman atelier products don't worth it or instead of westman products you can buy rhode blushes or whatever. charlotte's attitude towards the whole dupe thing is what getting on people's nerves. and honestly consumers are not stupid you can pay an influencer to say that your products are amazing but at the end it is the general public that will decide that. she needs to up her game instead of giving interviews.
@swedenlaundryyGirl Kiko Milano is the exact same thing for half the price.
@oscarcuellar1661ā¤ā¤
@snehapradhan5591That CT interview was giving elitist vibe. I understand that she has a business and she wants people to patronize her products. But in her shortsightedness, she forgets not all people can afford her products. I donāt know if sheās deliberately being out of touch of this fact or not. Again as a businessperson, she has every right to think dupes are also her competition along with other prestige brands. But her disdain is off putting. As if she thinks people are stupid not to know the difference between the dupes and the originals. It comes off as looking down on people and the businesses who created these dupes. Dupes are not counterfeit products, they existed because prestige brands have created a gap, a market that wants reasonably priced products which can somewhat duplicate the originalsā look and efficacy without selling their kidneys. IMO, CT shouldnāt be insecure about dupes because there will always be enough consumers who will buy her products no matter what. It may happen that some originals users would start using dupes, but there are also the possibility that dupes users would convert to using originals as well. CT really should have been more respectful in her views about it. A put down isnāt confidence, itās insecurity.
@2G_igurlCan't wait to watch all the dup videos!
@Sugaree43Darling Charlotte is going to go down as the most annoying brand owner ever. No one wants the lifestyle sheās trying to sell š¤·š»āāļø sheās actually delusional.
Thereās so many brands available today then it used to be and the separation between what was āluxuryā and what was ādrugstoreā was VAST because there was so little of both. Neither was good quality but the distinction was there and when you found a ādrugstoreā product that worked like that higher end products it was rare for the sheer lack of variety available. With the 180 of what it means to be āluxuryā brands that have the same (if not better) quality, wear and function are MORE than readily available at our fingertips that are significantly less expensive. Soon weāll have to reclassify the terms for what is luxury, drugstore, mid range etc because thereās no longer any gap between what was sold in department stores and what was sold at Walmart.
