I have several Apple TVs and one that I’m gonna call my newest. It is a model number A2843, and I’m running the latest operating system update 26.5. My issue has been for the past month. Let’s say my continue watching in the home screen does not update it does on any other of my older Apple TVs it if I watch something the next episode will pop up. I have done everything every YouTube channel has suggested to do I even reset this stupid thing which took me forever to sign back in on everything that did nothing for me. Any hints I’ve listened to most of your presentation in this subject and you just stated some steps I tried hoping that that would help and still the same thing I cannot get it to recognize. I have watched a show and it doesn’t update anything. My best move is to say Mark episode is watched, but if I start a new show, it doesn’t update it up on the display of watching.

Underestimate how hard it is to switch to Apple. Have been unable to add in my existing lights and temperature sensors as Apple want you to have bar codes, can’t do this as the boxes were thrown away. Or am I missing something….

I use Alexa to turn on my Apple TV using a Smart IR Blaster. When it was regular Alexa, it worked great. Now with Alexa+, it rarely works first try. However if I simple say Alexa try again then it works. So it knows how to do it, but it’s just being dumb.

I found this very informative. I only have 4K and less TV models and have never used Apple TV. I don't have an Iphone nor watch, nor iPad (only desk top & laptop computers). Are there any particular differences between 1st generation and later models? I found a used 1st generation for sale, cheap and would like to know if it will be no longer supported soon or is lacking in features compared to the model you expose. I'll check out the other video in case you mention it in there, but would appreciate any input.

Apple TV is one of the best Apple purchases we’ve made in the house. The built in Google TV OS is so bad, laggy, riddled with ads and doesn’t even have enough RAM to keep both Netflix with VPN running in the background.
Also no software support. There are some weird audio bugs in the TV where sometimes it would switch to built in speakers instead of eARC.

I've bought my first Apple 4K tv streamer to make use of upcoming full fibre broadband installation. For the last sixteen years my family and I have lived through the hell of adsl broadband, the speeds have been around d 3 mbps. So, full fibre and tge benefits it provides are very exciting. We've been using an old laggy amazon firestick for years. From what I've seen on YouTube, the Apple 4K stremer will be game changer. This video's content was excellent and very informative.

I've been using the Apple TV for a month now, and I've come to the conclusion that it has the worst remote for family use that I've ever owned. The constant calls from family members for help are making it the worst tech device I've ever bought. Is there a way to turn off the swipe function? That seems to be the main problem. Is there a replacement remote without the swipe function?

@user-fq3uh7bt1tthe camera on iphone is trash when it comes to camera, just like all phone cameras therefore colors will be trash. You cant expect apps or devices that are made for the purpose of pleasing the user rather than using objectively correct colors

@KatjiecacklebackI just ditched my Apple TV for a Fire Cube. So far the Fire Cube is vastly superior to the glitch ridden Apple TV which constantly froze in the middle of a movie or workout app and the Home Pod wifi speakers disconnected constantly. Plus the HDRI in port on the Fire Cube really handy as it's easy to connect my phone or tablet for apps not easily found on Streaming TV.

@lilmo65Question for Tablo users. I use my Tablo via their app on my Sony’s smart tv software. Works fine. But more speed with other apps would be nice along with other features an Apple TV offers. So for those that use a Tablo does it work fine with an Apple? I’ve seen mixed reviews when surfing the net for answers.

@DJ_DrivenTHANK YOU! I hadn't revisited the Apple TV settings since the day I first set it up. It took some doing to get color balance to work, but it did eventually work and made a great difference. Enhanced Dialog didn't work for me becuase it looks like it only works with certain speakers like Home Pods and possibly others. But I have a Samsung Sound Bar. It doesn't work with that apparently. I tweaked quite a few settings.

@jpaart8342Apple TV 4K runs very smoothly, but sometimes it lags. Sometimes it starts buffering. The Zee5 and jio tv + app is so laggy , and Tata Play Binge app and MX Player is also not available, especially in India.😅
@afroshadowgamingI have a 64GB 4K, I set up my matter compatible smart plugs and they worked great. I added a 128GB 4K (both running that latest TV OS) and now my smart plugs no longer work. I notice you have multiple AppleTV's. What could I be doing wrong? Thank you.

Hi, I used to watch your videos when they were about Amazon Alexa. In 2025 I got a Mac Mini, an iPad Pro, an iPhone 16e, and AirPods. Will make the jump to Apple TV soon. Fortunately I don’t have a lot of smart home devices just some bulbs and a Ring doorbell. 2026 I’ll probably build out an Apple based smart home. Thanks for the videos.
@ccroy2001I find the “what did he say, or what did she say” , feature messes up sometimes cause it doesn’t hear it properly and wastes time-
To eliminate that,,,
say “ why did They* say?” - and if it is supported , it won’t mishear the request —
(But it works only with certain apps,,, not all the time ) 👍🏼

- here is an issue/ maybe you or someone else has also experienced? —-
- myself and partner both have AirPods, connected to the Apple TV.
When we watch horror movies late at night, we like to both use them connected to the AppleTv to get the full experience and not bother the neighbors.
This worked in the past with no issues, but recently, with both connected, they will make *crackle and static noises, making it impossible to watch.
— if we use only one set—— no problem. Only when using two sets at the same time— this annoying crackle static happens. (Both work perfect when not connected at the same time )
- any help? And idea how to fix ?

We start with one set connected,,, then the dropdown says “share audio” and we have to connect/ select the second set)
((unless there is another way to connect two (2) sets at the same time that I don’t know about? )

I have a Samsung tv and sound bar (Q symphony), honestly, the Apple TV output is nowhere near as good as thru tv directly. Feels like it dims the sound

Thank for the HomePod tip. I have two on my nightstands and use them when listening to music and I’ll connect them when I watch movies but it never occurred to me to have them automatically connect to my TV through my ATV.
