Growing Potatoes is a hugely satisfying experience and doesn't require a large portion of your garden for a successful crop.
Potatoes are also fantastic fun to grow with your family especially finding the treasure when they're ready to harvest.
I'm seriously considering this at the side of my house for vegies, with the cost of food now in UK, and healthier
In this video we explain what's required to get started growing your own potatoes and demonstrate how to tend your plants to keep them healthy for a bigger, tastier harvest.
If you love growing your own food, why not take a look at our online Garden Planner which is available from several major websites and seed suppliers:

@emmalemma86Thanks. I have repeated what next one has said. It is apt and this saves time.....βΊ
How refreshing to watch a down to Earth video. No bells, whistles, waving of arms, dancing about, irrelevant talk. Just straight to the point, simple and straight forwards instructions.... Thank you....

@FleurFoodsGoodness! 10 years ago! Old video, but still very much useful! I was wondering if you can start growing potatoes mid-winter? I have some that started sprouting that I do not want to throw away because I can't plant them in time.
@AstonJayI watched this video in the winter, bought 3 varieties of seed potato, and gave it a go.
Although there was evidence of underwatering (itβs been a dry hot spring/summer here, Iβm thrilled with my harvest of 1st and 2nd early (Swift and Charlotte). I noticed that some of the larger spuds had rotted, so I should have harvested them earlier.
I was waiting for the plants to flower (first timer), but pulled them up when I realized that the foliage was yellowing, and dying back
Iβm really pleased with the results.
My Maris Piper are still looking very healthy.
I tipped my grow bags into a new raised bed. Easy harvest, and full of earthworms.
I used Fish, Blood, bone fertilzer. Unfortunately, that product attracts the lesser spotted Border Collie, so I have to be careful!
Not Timorβs itβs tubers
@Lucy-rm1ilOMGosh-I had started this process of adding additional soil as they grow, but so many other vid contradicts this & I had started worrying about my process. This vid really helped with reassurance for a 1st time potato grower using canvas bags. Thankful for it!
@benniboop752Thank you. Let us see how we get on with the bag. Last year, they were in the soil and eaten.
