When I was a child, that's 60 years ago, we had a drought in the part of Mexico I'm from. The river dried up. People f et o the village next door didn't have food. They would come around to get as much as they could from my village. It was sad to see the situation.

So let me get this right you're an island surrounded by saltwater. But apparently don't have enough desalination units and reverse osmosis systems to produce potable or potable water? Smh. Many Brits go to Bahrain Saudi Arabia quite another places in the Middle East whom all draw salinated water from the Persian Gulf Waters but have desalinization units. So again Britannia when you're surrounded by water, how is it that you have a water problem? I've got my guesses but that's a political answer for another day.

One extreme to another. When it does rain, people's homes get flooded. All that beautiful water, purified by the evaporation/condensation process, returning, unimpeded, back to the salty sea from whence it came. The lack of preventative measures to retain that water results in the other extreme....potable water shortage. The next time you sit on a riverside bench, watching that life-giving water returning to the salty ocean, you might think "It's a pity we can't store it in some way for the summer months" Is it really beyond the wit of Man to do this?

It's riddiculouse. The water companies are doin a number on us all. The river Trento fills up from Staffordshire there's loads of it. The river Severn, Sea all around us & they could have built desalination plants decades ago for us all. The docks at Docklands & the water companies sold off 2 reservoirs, land filled them & built houses on them & since then the government's been flooding us with other nations people. As I say these water companies , the capital venturists & the city of London are doing a number on us all, just to make a fortune for private companies that want the population to pay drop by drop for water,, it's a disgrace & the water they sell you all's chap. I fell out with the managing director of Thames Water a decade or so ago. These managing directors of these water boards & their boards of directors all need a bloody hard slap or all sticking in stocks on village greens & in parks where we can all throw old buckets of rotting veg at them they do & then send them all to prison & we ought to do the same to ones who were all responsible for ones who worked for these companies too & not just the ones in situ at the moment.

It will be difficult i know, but it seems we need to somehow re nationalise the lot. It's not a commodity for making profit from, it's fuggin water UK ffs.

Frankly it seems to me like the city of London's square mile just needs to be blown up the rotten lying cheating bunch of blagging b!tches, Metaphorically speaking of course.
