Apollo is using "Smooth Pursuit" arcing movement to get to the bill vs. straight line point-to-point saccade movement. Smooth Pursuit arcing "ties up" the spectator's brain for a bit longer (which is why magicians will move their hands in arcs for better misdirection) and also "locks" the spectator's brain at the end of the arc, before being free for other tasks, such as moving your own hand. This gives Apollo time to get there. If he were himself going to use point-to-point straight line saccadic movement, the spectator would beat him, because their brain can detect the linear movement, land on the endpoint quicker, and send their hand into action quicker. Counter-intuitive, but it's superior knowledge of how the brain's visual tracking system works.

False advertising hand vs. hand... The real Hand vs Eye test is about the eye being able to define fast or frequently enough. So there is no direct phisical test for both at once for you to claim... Weakminded magic fools should stick to pick pocketing not MythBusting... Fact

Lol also spatial location has alot to do with it, if you notice he moves his hand slightly towards the other person at their eye level which to the person's eyes does not register as movement, then he dipps down to get the money. Hand accelerates, other person brain not register movement, hand is already accelerated and in motion, hand reaches other guys hand level, oth r guys brain registers movement, hand takes money at high acceleration, other guys hand begins acceleration. Think of it like this, there is a reason cars have Bright red taillights which turn on when breaking, if not the person driving behind them would not register a deceleration in the front cars speed because of spacial location. Boxers use this principle for the straight jab. Which is why he places his hand at the others eye level.

Hmm it's about reaction time, which is about 0.3 seconds for the average person. All apollo has to do is to swoop in within 0.3 seconds, but actually even that seems hard

Very simple, and anyone can do. It comes down to reaction time. By the time your eyes tell your brain his hand is moving and then your brain tells your hand to move, his hand is already there...YOU CAN NOT BEAT THIS no matter how much or hard you try

Light has to travel into your eyes and into the brain which has to process the hand's movement before sending a signal to the muscle in your arm to move which has already happened for the opposing side.
