Doner was specifically developed by Turkic peoples in the region and everybody else copied them whether it was Arabs or Greeks. We don't have a national dish, like we have so many great foods from so many regions it is unjustifiable to choose only one.
@jaguareagle7026Thing is, that this kebab is made and then used fresh. Most often you will eat Kebab that is filled with unhealthy preservatives like Phosphate from pre-made meat and then transported to the shops. This leads to hearth issues and Osteoporosis. So be carefull if you eat too much of it.
