Also, usually for your home, the router is the DNS server, with it having the recursive server being the ISP or another service, which deals with looking it up... That too is a very complicated multi-tiered topic.
VPNs not keeping logs or details: many of them actually do keep that, as shown in court records from subpoenaed data. Many VPNs sell the information like you say ISPs do; that is why they are free. I like the added section about how some do that.
Your description of a honeypot isn't correct. Hotspots mostly have eavesdropping, then next most common is where it's a fake AP (either man in the middle where they are connected to the AP, or with it's own internet connection), to monitor the traffic or redirect it to a malicious site (through redirecting DNS)

Before 2022 I even could not understand what for VPN is needed. Nowadays in a country where I forced to live you cannot use internet without VPN, otherwise only local web-sites with propaganda are opened for users. Thanks clever people, who invented VPN and continue to make it more sophisticated to bypass government censorship and geographical restrictions on websites.

Wrong. Even if the VPN says it does not keep logs they could be. Never use a free VPN. Use an audited, open source VPN like Mullvad.
