How long can I expect to live? What is my prognosis with pancreatic cancer? (Douglas Evans, MD)

I just turned 50 2 weeks ago. I just left the hospital being told I have pancreatic and liver cancer. Not sure what to say but I've always been an over achiever. Runs in my family.

Hopefully I don’t have this. Down 105lbs in the last year. Without dieting.
More and more food is becoming undo able because a bite will make me puke.
So I have the unexplained weight loss, I have the food adversion, I have the hip pain in right hip, and dull pain in upper right abdomen with intermittent sharp pains there.
I had a CT scan that showed lesions on my liver and my right hip. MRI for a closer look at my hip is Tuesday.

Hope they figure this out soon.

I have stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer, I’m not giving up, if it gets to a point where I can’t win, I Wii go with assisted dying. I’m not afraid of dying, I just won’t to live a bit longer. I’ve looked after others since I was 9 years old, it’s my time now to look after me. I’m 75.

I have low-grade pancreatic cancer because of MEN1, and I now have diabetes after the removal of insulinoma in the tail. My pancreatic tumors were found by accident after several CT scans investigating lung nodules that turned out to be typical carcinoid tumors. The X-rays of my broken ribs from a fall lead to the CT scans that found the pancreatic tumors.

It's a bad cancer. My mother died in two years. When discovered it already spread to her liver. Two years was on the high end of surviving at that stage.

My father is diagnosed with this cancer and we found out 4days ago. It has metastasised to the liver. How curable is this? Going through the hardest time of my life this person is my whole world

I just lost my beautiful wife to Pancreatic cancer .She was stage 4 and also given about a year to 18 months to live ( best case scenario) .However through sheer positive attitude and will to live she lived a good life for just under six years . I miss her terribly .

They gave my uncle about a year at diagnosis (stage 4)---3 weeks later he was gone. Took us all by surprise, and just such a shock with how fast it happened.

My brother is in a battle with this cancer. He’s 33 years young and I’m in disbelief. I wish this wasn’t happening 😢

Dont feed cancer what it needs to survive, glucose and L glutamine, all carbs must stop, not sure how to handle the L glutamine tho

My grandfather, mother and brother all had PC. All three had the Whipple. Grandfather and mother no Chemo and lived for 25 more years. Brother has chemo and lasted 3 more years. The chemo killed him. Mayo Clinic requested I do blood study with them to see why we last so long after diagnosis. I gladly volunteered. No feedback yet.

Yea that’s all you can do, oncologist don’t know the first damn thing about cancer or how to treat it or manage it. They don’t understand the biology or nothing and why because they’re not taught how in medical school. The powers over the medical establishment are just out for money that’s why they have only chemo radiation and surgery that don’t work, all their patients keep dying and over 100 years they have made 0 progress and where is all the money going that’s donated to research???? You have thousands of people dying from this every year so they don’t want hear about the science that’s been proven that researcher are doing they won’t change the standard of care.

Im a stage 4 pnets with 20+ tumors in my liver, ( tail end pnets) with no more treatments due to no ins..... what time frame might i have?

My husband was told he had pancreatic cancer stage 2 8 months ago. They are curing him with infusion. He doesn’t feel well these days especially in the evening. He eats quite a lot. Does anybody have experienced Pancreatic cancer stage 2?

Oh I like this kind of doctor very compassionate and full of positivity....we need more doctors like him.

Drs have always played god thinking they can tell you how long to live. Arrogance. I have met people that had weeks to live according to the Drug sales cartel,then overcome the odds and alive years later. No joke!

You will live until your insurance runs out of money….. after that, you are on your own.

My stepdad got his diagnosis a little over 5 years ago, Stage 4, 6-8 months. His will to live and positiveness extended that period to more than 5 years. He passed away two weeks ago and will be remembered as one of those few patients who Beat the odds. RIP, we miss you everyday

My mom lived for almost 4 years with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She died from pneumonia.

My dad has whipple procedure and head of pancreas removed becuase of tumor , he will find out the result in 2 weeks because doctor dont want to tell him directly without a family member, after I analize all the last period of time i consider the diet , the stress , smoking, continuous feeling of being unhappy and alchoolhol daily fost the last 45 years cause the cancer to appear

My wife of 46 years found out on a Monday she had Stage 4 P. C. she died on that Friday. She was being treated for Pneumonia. A terrible loss. How do you say goodbye when it happens so soon.
