How the World Map Looks Wildly Different Than You Think

All of us have seen a world map at some point in our lives before, but it is very difficult to imagine how certain countries and parts of the world compare to each other in size that are far apart. In this video, I explore why the world looks very different than how it is portrayed in the Mercator Projection map. I then go on to explore how certain countries are unexpectedly larger or smaller than what they appear to be, and how some places looks wildly different than our perceptions.

PS; Don't totally hate on the Mercator Projection, it's actually a really useful map for navigation and on keeping the correct shape of countries while sacrificing the size that we can all laugh about!

@chicobicalho5621I realized the map was far less accurate than I initially thought when I flew from South America to Europe. Passing over Africa took much longer than the map seemed to suggest.

@amac701I'm asking myself does it matter? A big bucket of poop or a small bucket of poop, which one do you want? A hole in either bucket has the same effect. I'm trying to be kinda philosophical. I'd argue that in a big bucket the minority is larger than possibly the majority in the small bucket so any likelihood of said minority raging a bacterial infestation in said bucket would mean a much more damaging impact on poops inside said bucket, then the minority in the small poop bucket. The powerful poops, the ones on the top of the bucket with access to air, worry not about the infestation as they are living with air due to the poop heep being so high they are far above the lowly poops.
