my analysis when watching football: that boy nice

One of the first thing I look at in the analysis phase is the pressing. Are they pressing at mid-field well or not? And then I look at pace and tempo. And then I look at challenges, who is winning them. Are the passes accurate. I am not saying this guy is wrong. He probably knows a lot more than I do but I played soccer at the college level and have been watching the game for over 40 years and regularly read and analyze it. I watch Liverpool almost every week. I found it interesting that his eye is a lot different than mine and what I look for. But I also will learn from him.

Thanks so much Mr James. U broke everything down so beautifully. I just need now to apply it. Keep making such videos it's really helping future football coaches.

Football is an instinctive and chaos game. I think many coaches playing chess but as a player you have to be free in your mind. every situation every game is different. in ball possesion players muss be free and find the free spaces on pitch on their own. In defense against the ball must be clear rules.

What match level would you recommend for start practicing this? e.g. A Div2 match would be easier to break down compared to a UCL match?

Love it, really practical and lots of tips to try out. I might even be able to identify why a team won or lost using these methods.

Yup. Spot on. When you do these things, football is far more fun to watch. If your just watching it and not knowing what your looking at, it does get boring and that’s with any sport. One thing that gets me is when at halftime sometimes managers make changes that are not direct swaps and since I don’t know single teams players, then it’s hard for me to follow what he plans on doing. Of course I can watch, but it would be helpful I knew more before it’s played out on the pitch. Players from midfield are also swapped into defensive roles because they’re capable of being defensive etc.

Stoo talking such shit about a simple game?

@harrycharlton1459
@

Football is not american football.where every move is planned.thus is how these idiots are trying to turn it into.football flows players move around the pitch.doesnt batter what no you have on your back.this crap about no10s no8s double oivit is just nonsense.peopletrying to turn them into robits

@harrycharlton1459
@

You can't analyse a game like football.unless it is played by robots he is talking shit.players move during a game.that is the game.what is this double pivot shit.

@harrycharlton1459
@

Football was at its best when it was 442 now its a total tactical bore fell out with footie lately aw this tactical pish spoiling the game 😫😫

@bluejoe1873
@

Great video,style is important are they looking to C attack,or stabilise possession 1st ,how high do they push up,play with width,do they press,use offside trap

@jon.tarboctarbock1172

How to get a video of the game so we can do analysis and which software do you recomended to do the analysis

@everythingishere3874
@

At no point did you mention the effect a goal has on the coach’s ‘intention’ 😮🙈

@hughmccusker1345
@

F me, I've seen it all now. A guide to watching foorball. Put a pair of boots on and play the game.whatever your ability that will give you a much better insight in to the game than any video ever will.

@michaelb6241
@

Formations and tactics are ok until you lose possession and are counter attacked. Then watch most teams panic. That's when mistakes occur in defence.

@RoyGregory-m6b
@

If you are writing down you can't follow the full game flow
